In the brief, undated video at the site liveleak.com, a U.S. soldier appears atop a military vehicle as another mills about, directing the children to shout, "F*ck Iraq." The youngsters, though smiling, do not seem to understand what it is they are saying.

The soldiers have a laugh, presumably at the childrens' expense, with one at the end heard saying with a chuckle, "Oh God, that was so wrong."

Morbid humor has long been a tradition among soldiers in combat zones, and the Iraq war has been no exception. Recently a video of an American G.I. taunting an Iraqi boy with a bottle of water made the rounds of the Internet, reportedly leading to a Pentagon investigation.

I saw it... I thought it was funny... Who cares, as if telling a non-English speaker to say something in English when they don't know what is means is anything new... The bottom line, who cares, no one was hurt and like you said the kids were having fun, despite being terrorized by the Americans.

And why would American kids be saying this in Russian? Honestly, I don't care. I remember a kid from China told me I was saying hello, and I actually called another Chinese kid a faget. Was he mad? Nope, he knew I didn't speak Chinese, so he didn't hold me accountable.

As long as its not a threat, I don't care what people say (remember we have a con-stit-ution) they can say what they want. This happens all over the world. In fact, N Korea made a song called F*** the USA. I'm not about to post it up and scream bloody murder.

This is far from the morbid humor you describe (the water bottle incident was sick), this a few soldiers having fun, and notice what the kids had on their faces... yes smiles.

If you say that you found this video funny , well it s Not funny , this is a disrespect of a whole country , and when they will find out , someone might get hurt ( Ied , snipers , etc etc )

Idle hands are the devils workshop, and when troops don't have anything to blow up they get stupid. Really stupid. You want the NYPD over there then call them up, but these are combat troops and they don't make good policemen.

i personally find it quite funny ,but its just messing around with the languages and no harm is done. Come on i did it with kids that don't know German i told them to basically call themselves what ever possible bad thing they could call themselves and i found it quite funny.

soldiers are soldiers they are the killing machine not some rebuilding policing task, some can deal with kids and others some cant. if they get bored (as 40 already said) they will turn to doing stupid stuff like the jet plane ducking (posted previously) and stuff like this.

and im 100% sure this has been done in every damn war.

These people hate us anyway, and they kill our troops because they want us to cut run and surrender... I don't think this video means anything, past a little comic relief... And the world already hates us, lets get used to it. Since we proved to be the single super-power in 1945, the less priviledged have hated us. Get used to it. This video doesn't make a single difference.

Were we really the single super-power in 1945 ? i think not without russian pushing in on the east, germany would have had a far greater chance of reducing their two front war to a single front and i dont think america would have been so stupid to use an A-bomb on germany for their last resort.

There were bad decisions and there were good decisions, WW2 backing the alies was a good one. Going to vietnam was a bad one and Iraq is another bad one. Both bad decisions should have been dealt with differently and i think the issue isnt eliminating the enemy in iraq or finding WMD's, the issue is finding the cause of hate from a very big muslim population. This hate spawns in the middles east and one of the causes could definatly be the US invading Iraq.

The weird thing is, it has been done before and it was done effectlively in Desert Storm. The issue is, after desert storm, that Saddam Hussein was not removed from the power and this has led to all the issues thus far.

Evidence of Saddam Hussein being linked to Al Queda (our real threat in my view) has not been established and i believe through some interviews, Hussein did not have anything todo with Ousama Bin Laden.

The real reason for the US invading Iraq were the WMD's (weapons of mass distruction for those not knowing the acronym) thus later on no WMD's were found only some small development of modular chemical labs and short to long range missiles.

I think that the failure of this war should not be based on the troops or hate but on the failure for good inteligence.

Also the issues we face today of such a global hate did not start with the war on iraq but started far before that and if you look at it these terrorists go through generations and generations where car bombs expode in spain killing people etc. .

The war might have been an adding factor to this but the majority of hate came from previous confrontations and remember its not everyone but the Extremists that cause these issues !

Look at Iraq as a Germany that was defeated shortly after Hitler became to power, the war stopped the possible threat in its track but might have caused some future issues of confrontation due to this military force being looked at as evil.

If you go here in germany and say oh im from america most people will say wow your doing alot of bad in Iraq when you look at it, lets do the job right this time and dont screw it up.
