Senator hospitalized

Sen. Tim Johnson was hospitalized. Should he not be able to complete his term, the seat would obviously go to a Republican. Personally, I hope he can serve out his term, I think it would sad to his seat go to a Republican because of his illness. That would be sad. Of course no Republican would not like seeing the power shift, I just hope its not at someone else's loss.

Hi,

Sure wish the best for him. I do not think that to appoint a Republican (and I am one most of the time) would be fair to the electorate. They voted for a Democrat and the Gov. of that state needs to follow the dictates of the voters. To do otherwise would be disingenuous.

I would expect that same courtesy if it were a Republican who was ill and a Democrat Gov. Fair is fair, and that is what i determine to be in the best interest of the voters. (Wow, hard to say that if you are a Republican)

He is in critical condition. My sympathies and prayers definately go to him and his family.

He is actually my second favorite Democrat Senator. He is a good conservative, and things don't look good for him, sadly.
