How dare he make a joke about Iraq! Sick and twisted. He should, out of respect, cry for at least 12 hours a days like that Cindy Sheeman.

So what's with him saying its bad in Iraq?

People laugh to cover their nervousness. Clearly he's concerned that his beloved self-image is being called to bear (beer?) by this group. That his policies are being called a failure - in public no less.

My guess is that growing up Georgie was never told "No you got that one wrong, George. Go back and re-read the assignment and try again." Or: "Sorry George, you're just not good enough to make the drama club's spring musical - go try out for the baseball team. The coach is drinking buddies with your Daddy."

It takes a confident man to admit an error. He is not one.

I agree with you here. He is so concerned about being remembered badly, that he is trying to appease everyone now. He is abandoning what made him one of the greatest Presidents, and what got him re-elected against Kerry. He is going with the populace, instead of his true core belief.

Au contraire! He got C's in Yale.

He's just exhibiting more drunken behavior like he's been doing since he stepped into office. I guess drug addicts do make bad presidents.

Bush Asked Whether He’s ‘Still In Denial,’ Responds ‘It’s Bad In Iraq. That Help?’

http://thinkprogress.org/2006/12/07/bush-denial/

" I've been saying it a lot. I understand how tough it is. And I've been telling the American people how tough it is."

What a laugh. He and his administration have been feeding the American public a steady stream of just the opposite. The insurgancy is on it's last legs , stuck in the ropes, just a few deadenders, we've turned the corner....on and on and on.

Truly, the worst president ever, and arguably the worst world leader ever…

Taft, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter... all far worse Presidents. I think George Bush will be remember as Winston Churchill: Well ahead of his time and a visionary. Conservatives (as always) will get the last laugh. Remember Reagan was a liar, cheat, marmonger... sound familiar?

Yup!

Its mainly conservatives who view Reagan as great. For some, me included, he was a puppet who allowed felons to run rampant in the White House. If you really think a Lieutenant Colonel has the horsepower to orchestrate something as complicated and covert as Iran-Contra, you clearly have no clue how the US Army, or any government agency, works.

And as far as the fall of the Soviet Union; its like the rooster taking credit for the sunrise.

But Reagan was more than 20 years ago. Who cares?

And what supreme experience do you have that allows you to determine exactly how every govenment agency works?

Saddam's army?

The problem isn't America. The problem is some people have very poor logic. They make a point they can't support, and then attack the person that proved them wrong.

Not that I think I have to explain myself to you but how does 30 years working for and supporting the US Government sound? If you really want to hear the alphabet soup of the agencies I have direct experience with so be it: Army, Navy, Air Force, Peace Corps, USACE, DOE, DHS, EPA, USDA, BLM, DOT, Coast Guard, DHHS, NASA, Forest Service ... Do you want me to name the state and local governments too? Does that make me an expert on all of them? No. But compare my experience to yours and at least I know the limitations of my knowledge. You seem not to have any - yet.

Jeff, as you gain some real world experience I hope you'll learn that indeed we all have limitations. Knowing them is tough. Admitting them is toughter.
