3 Christians to be executed in Indonesia

The Pope has asked for clemency for three Indonesian Christians that are set to be executed for leading an assault on an Islamic school that killed 70 people

PS : Every faith, country, philosophy, or other categorization has its lunatics and psychos.

This does not mean that there is a problem with the system of belief, with the country, with the race, gender, or sexual orientation.

This means that humans are nuts, and psychos will crop up EVERYWHERE.

The problem is not the belief system. The problem is the fan club.

All these 'religious' people who cause trouble,(NOT ALL!) should really get a life. It is really sad. If there was such thing as a 'God', would it really want people to go mental. I don't even understand why, if there was a 'God', it would want people to pray for it to do good, why don't they just do good themselfs, if 'God' knows everything, it would know what you need, and therfore just give it to you. And I don't mean like winning the lottory... Sorry, that is a bit off topic...

I am sure none of this is offensive, just tell me if you find it offensive. Thanks.

Are they even religious, or just gone in the head? What do you think?

What's that? I'm afraid I don't speak anti-muslite.

My Bumpersticker Idea

Great quote, BTW.

Had the following idea for the following bumpersticker:

"The Solution to Islamic Fundamentalism is not Christian Fundamentalism."

There's the ticket, Mez. Radicals of any flavor are dangerous. In this case, I think the Pope is wrong.

The Pope...

I think the Pope is playing shrewd politics by underlining for all the world to see exactly how stupid, volatile and therefore dangerous these Islamic Fundamentalists are.

Maybe he is wrong for saying what he said, given the present climate, but also I think an arguement can be made for how courageous it was also, even if it cost a nun her life.

The notion that there is a world-wide religion that apparantly subscribes to the belief that you should be killed for vocalizing an opinion that is contractory to someone's interpretation of a "bible" (the Koran) is a point that (I think) needs to be made by many and often. That the Pope himself has opened this door (again, I think) is a courageous act that will spark world discussion on exactly who these Muslims are.

Further, I am also developing the opinion that the most "targetable" group for world opinion and expressions of revulsions ought to be the so-called Islamic "moderates" that apparantly are incapable of "moderating" their murderous brethren.

Meaning that trade sanctions should be imposed on selected countries that fail to acknowledge the danger these Islamic Fundamentalists pose to the rest of the world.

However, my primary concern is that of the idea that "we" (Americans, for the most part) should "unite" around the Christian Fundamentalists as they are "the" alternative.

In college, we learned this to be a logically fallacy called "false dichotomy". For Christian Fundamentalists to somehow inherite the mantle of "champions" for the only reason that they are "not the Islamic Fundamentalists" is a terrifying possibility, and the future conseqences of that dynamic cause me as much concern as those of an established (world) Islamic government.

Because the Pope might just as easily pointed to Christianities dark and evil history. However, if he had, I very much doubt that it would have provoked death-threats from the "radical" Christians with echos of silence from the "moderates".

(Which is to shade the notion that to a certain extent I discount the notion of "moderate" Islam, as they seem to put a lot of effort not saying very much.)

Radical Christians go against the teachings of Christ.
Radical Muslims go against the teachings of Muhaamed.

Hang em all.

So, what is radical? Bry, are the "radicals" those who believe that every word and punctuation mark in the Bible was set there by the hand of God and the strict Wahhabi Muslims who preach that all non-believers should die, or their opponents?

Radicals are those that warp their religion to meet their own agenda.
