The MSM's newest darlings.

Move over Murtha. Cindy Sheehan, take a back seat. The media has found their newest faces in their anti-Bush campaign: Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez.

They were the lead story on every broadcast last night.

Oh please. The guys = ratings because Bush is always taking about them. I do find it kind of sick that they never ask Ahmadinejad about his persecution of religious minorities. That was probably a condition he gave to do the interviews.

Well, I think that they are having their little time in the sun, courtesey of the American press. As mentioned above, they are cosidered, by our Executive Branch, to be of grave concern, so we might want to see what they have to say.

Now that we have seen what they have to say, we know that they are even more vacuous than we thought.

You should considering you just posted a thread complaining about them not being on the President's side.

But, they cam out on for Bush, only because the populace was bothered by the "devil comments". And did you hear Rangel saying I know you and the president like to exchange insults... but to come into my country and bash my president.......

Yeah, like they mean any of it.

I still don't see how you can fault them. They did what you said they wouldn't do, but now you're complaining they didn't do it right.

No, I am saying that they are the first people to stand up and bash Bush. Nothing he does is ever good enough for them. He's just Rove's monkey boy. He's an idiot. He's the terrorist. He instigasted the terror attacks. Bush lied people died. He should be impeached.

Now, a person whose own Bush bashing is fine and well with them comes stateside and starts banging on him, then they defend him??? Their "defense" sure smells political. I just wish they'd put half the amount of energy into bashing him as they did defedning him. Then I would be impressed.

Yeah I don't even think they should have defended him at all. All he did was agree with them and they play shocked and appalled.

Isn't it a little like Chris Rock using "******" 1000 times in a show but let a white guys say it and all hell breaks loose?

No, my point is Bush may be the devil, but he's our devil. It's OK for me to say my brother's a jerk but don't you dare say it.

Chavez goes in depth on his devil comment:

Good interview. And no I don't think it's the same dynamic as the "N" word, not by a long shot.

Those that Can't See the Difference...

Cindy Sheehan is an American Citizen whose son was killed on foreign soil while honorably performing his duty to his country, and she can say anything she damn well pleases.

For that matter, "The Jersey Girls" are surviving widows of those that were actually killed in the 9/11 attack, and for whom all these military political efforts are supposedly being made. They are also American Citizens, and they too can say whatever they damn well want.

Hugo Chavez is a whack-job despot of a pissant country populated by inferior people and culture, and (as American Citizens) we can say anything about HIM we damn well want.

We the American people understand clearly that there are two very separate and distinct classes represented here. The only people that are confused and feel the need to lump them both together in the common class of "Enemies of George Bush" are the Republicans, and it is this inability to differentiate between them that proves the Republicans are not qualified to govern.

I choose to lump them together because the "drive by media" uses them to attack Bush. Keep them at the front of the news because they have something to quarrel with the president over.
And yes, every AMerican has a right to speak his mind, but Mrs. Sheehan is such a whack job, that she is being used by the libs for their agenda.
The Jersey girls certainly have a right to speak their minds, but just because they are 9/11 widows, does not free them from scrutiny when they do.

Scrutiny...

Quote:

Well do you mean "them" from scrutiny, or the opinions they have. I have not seen much "scrutiny" being given to WHAT they say, but I've seen plenty of scrutiny being shoveled at WHO they are, WHY they do what they do, and FOR WHOM. Like they are cogs in the great Anti-George Bush machine, being used and then discarded.

Here's a bit of "scrutiny". Their loved ones are DEAD. These people don't wake up and say "Hay, lemme see if I've got some political pretext to get my uneducated opinions played on national media.

I've SPENT some time in the "Public Eye", and I'll tell you from personal experience that it is VERY UNPLEASANT. No one but (IMO) extreme personalities (that might be diagnosable if they chose to pursue other, less public endeavors) WANT to do this kind of thing.

Here's a good, empathic "Christ-like" exercise.

Your Wife is DEAD due to Islamic Fundamentalists.

Do you:

A) Attack or otherwise publically criticise the Republican Administration becuase they have failed and continue to fail to fulfill their primary responsiblitiy ?

-or-

B) Attack or otherwise publically criticise the Republican Administration due to superficial "Party Loyalty" and a need to make yourself the center of attention ?

The Republican Attack Machine would have us believe "B" is your answer, and that we should discount everything you say because of it.

This is "scrutiny" ? This isn't scrutiny, this is a public attack, designed to embarrass, pressure, threaten and otherwise coerce average americans from making their grievances regarding the present administration's policies public, out of a self-serving and superficial sense of "Party Loyalty".

These people are special for this reason. Their dead loved ones don't make them ideal spokespeople because they "crave attention"; these people are ideal becuase despite their loss they still feel compelled to take a public stance. At a time when that is the thing they would LEAST want to do.

How many surviving family members of American Servicepeople that have died in Iraq do you see being willing to wave the flag and play cheerleader for George Bush's Middle Eastern Crusade ?

A good friend of mine is a PRIMARY Republican in South Texas, and I mean she is the heart and soul of the Republican Party in an area of the country that could be called "The Republican Party Heartland".

(I read a marquee the other day announcing that there are chuch services being held on Sundays at Ronald Reagan High School (a new & public school). How many schools in the US allow their public buildings to be used by churches ?)

This woman's friend's son was a Marine that was killed in Iraq last year.

She's not a particularly enthusiastic Republican anymore.

Our local school does, but then again, I live in farmland Ohio where football, NASCAR, beer, country music, trucks and tobacco are king.
