Protesting peacefuly is something that some people should learn to avoid the picture of all muslims are the same .
The problem is media doesnt ask what moderate muslim think . it s easy to report a couple incident in gaza or in tadjikistan where some isolated troubles happened this week end , but there s a billion of muslim who didnt get upset of what the pope said .

What I'm saying is that Islam has reached a point where there seems to be large number of fanatics controlling things.

I'm not dissing Christianity or Islam, but to m Islam appears to be at a point where many of it's followers are radicalized; just like how the Christian world was in the 11th century. But I have no doubt in my mind that the real reasons they're doing these things are political rather than spiritual (whether they admit it to themselves or not) just like the Christians of the 11th century.

Sorry is my "things will get worse before they get better" remark sounded callus but that's my belief. I don't see these people getting less fanaticle just because we implant a western state in their midst like bush says and I don't see any self motivated peace movements happening in the middle east.

You don't see students protesting in Iran anymore these days.

The leaders of Islam are dragging all of Islam into their radical and destructive beliefs to make this out to be a holy war. The rest of the world cant sit idly by as madmen destroy innocent people in the name of their religion, and at the same time hide from UN inspectors, building WMD's or nuclear bombs.

Hi all, I have reopened this thread and will try to tone it down a little bit. I don't know if it is safe to say that the muslims are like the christians were 1000 years ago or not, but it is kind of interesting how people can use their religion to obtain their objectives.

Now, to keep this light, in Medieval: Total War, the catholic countries can declare a crusade and muslim ones can declare a jihad. The orthodox guys are jsut screwed, but when I was playing the Byzanitnes, I made it a point to take over Jeruasalim, Arabia, and Rome.

There wasn’t much detail in the article I read, but I’m assuming those churches were made of straw and had bulls eyes painted on the steeples. I don’t even think the Crocodile Hunter would have attended services in one of those churches. I can imagine the conversation today between the guy who recommended building churches in the epicenter of religious violence and the people who told him it was a bad idea. If he’s smart – probably for the first time – he’s blaming God. “He is testing us.”"

Yeah, I'm going to have to disagree there too. They should start practicing what the preach- i.e., not being filthy animals who firebomb churches because they feign being offended.

These aren't the dark ages. You'd think religious strife would be a thing of the past in 2006, but I suppose that's not good enough for the narrow minded bigots.
