Did the US broker a deal with the devil to get Zarqawi?

Now I'm not the biggest conspiracy buff, but this one is kind of weird:

Quote:
http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7004105296

"Baghdad, Iraq (AHN) - The wife of al-Qaeda In Iraq's top leader, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who was killed by U.S. forces, is now making stunning allegations that America learned of his whereabouts from none other than Osama bin Laden.

Al-Zarqawi's first wife tells an Italian newspaper, La Repubblica, that U.S. intelligence services made a deal with al-Qaeda's top leader to remove al-Zarqawi, in exchange for less pressure on bin Laden.

She says to the paper, "My husband has been sold to the Americans. He had become too powerful, too troublesome."

When asked how America got in touch with Osama bin Laden, she claimed Sunni tribes and Jordanian secret services mediated the deal."
Quote:
http://today.reuters.com/news/newsAr...archived=False

"The CIA has disbanded a unit set up in the 1990s to oversee the spy agency's hunt for Osama bin Laden and transferred its duties to broader operations that track Islamist militant groups, a U.S. intelligence official said on Tuesday."
That's a pretty big coincidence.

Hi,

Yep, sounds like a big deal and also a bunch of crap. She got her statement and two minutes of fame is the way I see it. Reminds me of the play by William Shakespeare.... "Much Ado About Nothing."

The ol' "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" trap. That has served us well in the past. Re: Saddam Hussain vs Iran.

But I agree with Tumble, unless there's more to it or unless we're somehow trying to "legitimize" OSBL, then it's just a tiny blip on the screen reflecting the whole mess we've made with the Islamic world.

Yeah, but it's still a weird coincidence.

Hi,

Yep, sure is. I can also look up in the sky and see clouds that look like huge buildings, airplanes, angels, dragons, etc., etc., etc. You see what you want to see.

Actually, without Bin Laden there would be no George Bush. In 2001, he was flailing for an issue. Along comes the World Trade Center and all of a sudden he's a "War President".

But by 2004 his war isn't going all that well and people are wondering if maybe this Kerry guy might be a better choice. Then a week before the election, Bin Laden releases a video basically saying please elect Kerry. Well, nothing could help Bush more; he gets reelected.

And now, the Bin Laden unit is disbanded.

Coincidence?

As much a coincidence as when I get sore throats on rainy days.
