Was there a particuliar reason why you closed the "Warrantless phone tapping is legal?" thread before I could respond to someone? We were discussing certain issues bry, and yes you are an admin/mod, but THAT was lame as hell dude. It was hardly 2 pages....

Ok I just want to say something. You didn't know how Bry determined that you are Swedish (well I only read the first page) but he is a mod, he can see IP addresses, and he knows what a WHOIS search is. Simple.

The reason bry623 chose to close that thread is because it was degenerating to a personal level. We discussed it and I agree with the decision.

Danrak, after much hesitation, only allowed us to have a political forum after we assured him that we are able to maintain the same high level of civility seen in other parts of TSF. Please remember that our intent is make sure that while we may disagree we are never disagreeable. That said, we do at times, discuss emotionally charged issues. So I ask every contributer to the PS to take a moment and think through what they intend to post. Please stay on topic. And do not get into personal attacks with fellow members.

As we said in the rules, it's OK to say Bush is a jerk. It's not OK to say a fellow member is a jerk for supporting him. As is often the case, discretion is usually the better part of valor.

bry needs a processor upgrade. thats the particular reason you are looking for. Many people posted under HW section about him. We all recommended the same thing... Processor processor. :) the 4004 was the first processor released by intel in 1970... Indeed he is older then that. So you figure.

I think it's my bad in this case for having posted the original post. But I do agree that closing was the best course of action given the direcion of the thread at that point. The idea of the Political Scene was to take those more sensitive subjects from Offline and put them in a more appropriate arena but also adhering to the rules of civility, order, and respect. Once the line has been crossed in any of those areas it's the duty of the moderator to take the necessary action.

I agree, but the line was crossed, when I was accused of being Anti-American, Swedish, a "protestor", Bush Bashing, and Labled
as something for me simply putting facts up against "talking points/opinions".
The next thing I expected to hear, was that I was dirty, lazy, jobless, a pot smoker, and a "left wing fanatical liiiibrul". You know, all those ASSumptions about someone who actually knows facts about the situation, and doesn't rely on 10 minutes of FOX News a week to base their knowledge on. It was wrong to accuse me of things that were not true, and ASSume that I was not looking out for the Nation I served.

Spatcher: I am not Swedish. My IP does not point to Sweden. If it "points" anywhere, it points to Richmond, Virginia....where I live and type from...
The "Sweden" part came from me stating, that attacking Iraq for 911, would be like FDR attacking Sweden for Pearl Harbor. How that ever ended up being misconstrued for me being from Sweden, it appears was based on simply not reading my post but skimming it looking for a "Bush Bash" to reply to. (I had misspelled Harbor as well, and was lableled as UN-American)

Look guys, I just got here the other day, and I apologize if I riled the feathers of some who OPPOSE my views (And 71 percent of the percent of the Nation). I will not however, allow some to LABEL me as being UNAmerican, for offering the facts, against "mantra's".

Bry, I apologize to you for jumping down your throat, but rest assured, you made a terrible first impression with me, and I am FAR from being an UNAmerican....
