Laptop Hard Drive wanted

I dont know if i'll get away with posting this, but does anyone have a spare working laptop HDD doing nothing?

Im in need of one for my In Car PC project and its the only part I need to make a running system.

Looking for around 80GB, but could suffice with a 60GB. Will be paying money, I dont want one for free.

As above, if this isnt allowed, please inform me and ill remove the post.

Hi Chris have you tried Ebay? I got a brand new one (80G) for my son... Can't remember the price but I remember it being very cheap...

Tried eBay, but they running in the region of £30 and im wanting my projecto to be as budget as possible, but I get a bit carried away and want more and more.

Im still in need of a GPS receiver and a Wireless car, fused distribution block, and the costs are mounting up

Got a 120GB drive off eBay for £33 delivered recorded. Bit more than I wanted to pay, but you only live once!

Total cost of my car PC build so far: £312.01

Bit more than i expected.

Chris, that looks like a lot of work to me, but then I am not as technically savvy as you are.

I don't suppose you would consider 'baby-sitting' me through a similar project would you?

Or if you documented what you did to get it all working, I'd love to read it?

Hi Bruce.

It can be quite a daunting task when you think of what is actually involved in installing a carPC.

What it is, is basically the exact same as your PC at home. Very similar setup in regards of components and hardware.

I will start to write a bit up now and will update it as I progress.
