What if…. v. Random Ruminations

Since we have so few threads to capture our creative thoughts, and no one has started a new thread in a while, I thought I’d throw this one at you all. Just start the post with “What if” and pose a thought provoking, serious, humorous or benign idea or situation for the rest of us to comment on (the replies don’t have to start with “What if”, as we already have a questions only thread).

Here’s an example of a classic: What if I travelled back in time and accidently killed my father’s father before my father was born? Or: What if I had left the house a minute earlier? (I wouldn’t have gotten stuck behind that slowpoke in the Subaru!!!)

Ok, your turn.

Perhaps we would not have the King James version of the bible.

What if the solar system is just an atomic structure (sun the neutron/proton - planets the electrons) in some enormous table of a enormous house in an enormouser (?) universe than ours?

I have to admit I have had that same abstract vision of our universe too. Men In Black went the other way - putting the universe on the cats collar.

If the big bang theory IS true why have we been unable to locate any sort of intelligent or unintelligent life anywhere else....maybe WE are the unintelligent life....intelligence is in the mind of the beholder..........

What would chairs look like, if our knees bent backwards?

Re: What if…. v. Random Ruminations

The chairs would look the same but it would be a lot easier to put your feet up on the table. Oh how mom's would love that.

If we ever do detect signals or messages from other intelligent life, we will probably find out they were sent so long ago that the other civilization has died out by now.

The Saudi's would be broke and California would need to steal more water from the rest of the country or finally build their own desalination plants. If exhaust was some type of water vapor just think what that would do to overall humidity levels and heaven forbid .... more global warming!!!

Either that or our arms would be evolved to 4x the size to accommodate carrying huge stone slabs around in our bags

Probably both. Dragoen, I don't think 'bo knows what corn cobs were used for here in the states.

Come to think of it, what DID Europeans use for that before paper was invented?

Re: What if…. v. Random Ruminations

I believe some cultures use a spoon to scrape with....and let's just not go there with the soup jokes.

@ WereBo - what did you mean about the stone slabs?

Now then:

What if we changed the rules on the City, Town, Village name game to include the longitude and latitude of the place and then the next post has to use the last letter as we do now, but the place has to be along the same longitude or latitude as the previous post? Sort of a crossword approach.

Re: What if…. v. Random Ruminations

It's a major hassle to type in the Lat. and Long. references, but it would be interesting to add the country or something - I pick mine from random countries on GoogleMaps or GoogleEarth

@ Dragoen - I was referring to the 10 Commandments written on stone slabs. Could you imagine having to carry a brief-case full of them?
