Re: The Dr. Groucho, Dr. Chico & Dr. Harpo Thread v
That would work!!! I had a friend one time he called his Stumpy.
You know at one time I use to keep a list of strange names of people, I had heared of or meet, now where that get off to. I remember one man in one of the colleges I was in, his name was Marry!! why in the would someone name a man Marry??? We had a girl down the street, Her name was Ima and her last name was Sap. I would hated to go to school and be called up in the role, Ima Sap please come to the front please. Well guys and gals I may be offline for a few days, I am changing over to DSL and I've got to install a Ethernet card in my and my dad's sys. plus resister my new labtop, yep I finnally got it, and get some virus solfware for all three. You all keep the thread going, God Bless you all. DC.

Re: The Dr. Groucho, Dr. Chico & Dr. Harpo Thread v
YAY for DC getting some FAST DSL!
Keep on rolling along DC keep your spirits high and worries low! So my girlfriend (we've been going out for 3+years) is feeling better and is able to go to school but her dislocated shoulder is going to take a while to heal and her mom has to help her wash her hair and stuff and help her put on her shirts. She gets some pretty bad headaches but she is able to go out and do stuff. She gets lots of sleep every night, but she isn't used to sleeping on her none dislocated shoulder side so I guess, habits die hard. |

Errrmmm... I'm not certain about that - I never use Outlook Express or Internet Explorer.
I think there's an option to show the 'Read Email' button from the 'Customise Toolbar' menu option, but I'm not right sure about that

DC, make sure his screen isn't cluttered with stuff he doesn't NEED, then put the shortcuts he does need and make them big.

Re: The Dr. Groucho, Dr. Chico & Dr. Harpo Thread v
I got outlook express forwarding email from Hotmail and Gmail for free. All I can think is to either make a start menu shortcut, taskbar shortcut, or a desktop shortcut
and on the thing about 32 and 64 bit machines a system older than lets say 6 years is probably incapable of running a 64 bit system. for a 64 bit system to run you need 64 bit capable hardware and 64 bit capable software. the thing you need to worry about mostly is if you can find the drivers for your hardware and if the CPU is 64 bit capable. It's a delicious mixture like Beer - Hops, yeast, some sort of grain water , heat just like 32bit OS a 64 bit OS needs a bunch of support video card drivers are pretty easy to find the proper 64 bit driver but your motherboard might be more difficult and same with peripherals like your webcam or something like that maybe printers or camera software might have trouble. ehh that job i started on monday well they don't really care they were supposed to pick me up for work on wednesday and I woke up at 4:45 am, I was ready at 5:40am. I waited till 7 am and then phoned them and my boss said the truck was full and he was supposed to phone back that afternoon. its just crap so meh I'll get another job Last edited by Mcninjaguy; 01-15-2009 at 10:45 AM. |

Re: The Dr. Groucho, Dr. Chico & Dr. Harpo Thread v
Sorry about the job Mcninjaguy if they treat their people like that then you are probably better off without them.
Hey DC I agree with what gistec said about cleaning up his desktop so if he has XP then right click on the desktop then select properties then the Desktop tab then at the bottom click Customize Desktop then click Clean Desktop now you will now get the desktop cleanup wizard so click next, now make sure there is a check in the boxes for all the programs that you want to take off the desktop then click next then finish and it will put all those icons in a folder on the desktop. If you don't have an Icon for for outlook express on the desktop (or any other program you want) click start/all programs then find the program and right click it move down to "Send to" then click "Desktop (Create Shortcut)" and you will have an icon on the desktop for the program. |

Re: The Dr. Groucho, Dr. Chico & Dr. Harpo Thread v
Mcninjaguy, That is a bummer about the job, there must have been a reason for that, but I will keep praying for you.
Sandy / Gistek that sounds like a plan. I'll give it a try. Excuse me guys I am a little dis-apointed in TV lately, I liked watching CSI Vaga's and NCSI but they have change who the bosses are on the shows and I am not to happy, so I guess I will be doing some else for entertainment. Tv gotten where it nothing but junk anyway. O well, give me more time to study Visual basic programming. Well please excuse I have to test and take a shoot of insulin, see you later folks.

Re: The Dr. Groucho, Dr. Chico & Dr. Harpo Thread v
Good luck with the visual basics DC I tried it a few years back and I got half way through the book
and then got side tracked now I have forgotten it If you don't use it you lose it. The big problem is you have to buy the program to be able to use it on other computers than your own, where if you program in Python it is free.

Re: The Dr. Groucho, Dr. Chico & Dr. Harpo Thread v
DC,
I agree with the NCIS new director not being as good, but the new guy for CSI Vegas will probably work out. It looks like there will be some really interesting bits between Hodges and the new guy. They're both arrogant enough to cause some tension, and each has a background that could give them the idea that the other is subordinate. The appointment of Conrad as Vice Sherriff should cause some interesting interactions as well.
