Re: The New TSF Surgery - All Welcome! v. Even more Flesh
Hope it won't tickle...oh yeah no feet, no tickle..Thats good!
The lady downstairs (now you must realize we all have lived here for 8-9 yrs so are like family)has multiple health problems and our friend is her in-home care provider. The lady is Jackie and caregiver is AnnaMarie. Well at night AnnaMarie goes home and another friend, Sue usually stays there. ok AnnaMarie has been sick (respiratory infection) so Sue and I have been taking turns "babysitting" Jackie and Jackie has been coming down with what AnnaMarie has. Tonight they convinced Jackie to go to Dr. (Urgent Care) and they determined it is pneumonia and wanted to admit her to hospital. AnnaMarie came home and said Jackie wants someone to go sit at Hospital with her, so I volunteered. AnnaMarie took me there and dropped me off. It was my first time at that particular hospital. So, I go in and what do you know, but my grandaughter & grandson's paternal Auntie Bunny & cousin and friends are there (small world). I then inquire as to which room Jackie is in and they have no record of her being admitted. They walk back and check "the board" no written patient info on the board. They double check to see if she is in transition from ER to Admitting. No Luck. I call Sue (she is one of those people that don't REALLY pay attention to what info people are giving out whether AnnaMarie had said she accompanied Jackie here or if indeed she came to THIS hospital Sue just kept saying "Well, I don't know what"....gggggrrrrrrrr!) so I asked her to call AnnaMarie and find out what is going on because I can't believe she took me to the wrong place. I call back, AnnaMarie didn't answer and Sue says...well, I don't know and Harold (my husband) says Melissa (my daughter) can't come and get you, so I don't know what you are gunna do. So I wander around trying not to cry (LUCKILY I had rat holed $5 and actually had it in my pocket) cause I don't know where to go to catch a bus going to my house. I was looking for Security to ask one of the Guards. I run into a lady who is administrative in nature and ask her if she could tell me where I am (no, not that I am in a hospital...the location LOL) and she offers to check computer again for me. It turns out she is a case manager and has access to ALL the hospitals admitting records (there are at least 5 hospitals here). NO JACKIE she also calls a couple of the urgent cares that work with the hospital (oh ya Jackie was supposedly transported via ambulance from urgent to hospital and the ER called the central ambulance dispatch with no luck). So I find out that to hook up with the bus that brings me to my house I have to walk only 10 big city blocks west and then head south for about the same. I get home finally (I left to go to hospital around 4:45, left the hospital around 6:30 ish got home at 8) and Sue kinda jumps my chit, Jackie is wondering why no one has come down to sit with her so I am going down right now and why didn't I call back she (sue) would have paid for a taxi to bring me home and Jackie is at the hospital in the ER blah blah blah..Why didn't I call her back, she was waiting cause I said I would call her back to tell her what was going on. NO I DIDN"T ..I said "Well....ok then, bye" on my 2nd call. That really PEEVED me off! What an air head! I didn't do anything wrong AND I thought the hospital staff really went out of their way to try to find Jackie. I sure hope someone remembers her name (they should) and tells her I was looking for her! Well what the heck...I SHOULD have brought her here. No lines, fast service (I don't know about misplaced patients) just bring your wallets! And do you have your organ donor card?????? Last edited by Cathy95820; 01-11-2009 at 04:49 AM. |

Re: The New TSF Surgery - All Welcome! v. Even more Flesh
Thank you, she did. I just happened to be going downstairs last night when she called her house, so I got to speak with her. She is a VERY large woman, which created a problem with getting the proper transportation set up to get to the hospital. I guess she must have rolled in shortly after I left. I reassure myself I did the right thing though, as it was dark, I was unfamiliar with the area and I was walking alone. It all worked out ok. Just goes to show, if asked "what's been going on with you?", you may not want to hear the whole story LOLOL!
