Re: The New TSF Surgery - All Welcome! v. Even more Fresh
hamson might be cool down soon. Made an appointment for him for a few weeks from now to get all his shoots, fixed, fleed and groomed up a bit, he'll be a new man.. ua..dog when he get out of there.
You know I was watching the western channel, I wonder how many times we have seen the same tree or rock in different movies but at different angels. I was watching Godzilla a few days ago and saw the same clip fifteen times, it was in a western to "Godzilla rules the west" staring Maverk, they where playing cards with the dogs in the picture. Be--lone--y!!!!!

Re: The New TSF Surgery - All Welcome! v. Even more Flesh
OK class, please today's lesson will be : Things your veterinarian may not have fully explained.
When the girl dog or cat takes responsibility for the family planning it is called having your pet spayed. When the male dog or cat assumes the responsibility for unplanned pregnancies it is referred to as neutering (yikes). Further precautions that are needed that the male post op patient be shielded from his peers who may point out that there is something missing back there which may cause psycological issues (this is also applicable to the occasional extreme makeover from the groomers)(don't laugh-literally). Apparently this is a sensitive issue even in the animal world. ALSO, and I know this from personal experience. In the first days following surgery on your male dog, do not expose him to any females dogs who are looking for a good time . Apparently he may still have one last bullet...omg here I paid for NO MORE PUPPIES and got em anyway. As the saying goes...........don't forget to have your pets spayed or neutered! To |

Re: The New TSF Surgery - All Welcome! v. Even more Flesh
I used my page back, back, back and found it .......WHEW here it is
OK class, please today's lesson will be : Things your veterinarian may not have fully explained. When the girl dog or cat takes responsibility for the family planning it is called having your pet spayed. When the male dog or cat assumes the responsibility for unplanned pregnancies it is referred to as neutering (yikes). Further info regarding post op male patient (dog). It should be noted that male post op patient be shielded from his peers who may point out that there is something missing back there which may cause psychological issues (this is also applicable to the occasional extreme makeover from the groomers)(don't laugh-I am serious about this!) Apparently this is a sensitive issue even in the animal world. **see last paragraph** ALSO, and I know this from personal experience. In the first days following surgery on your male dog, do not expose him to any females dogs who are looking for a good time . Apparently he may still have one last bullet...omg here I paid for NO MORE PUPPIES and got em anyway. ** This was years ago btw. My best girlfriends name was Pam. Pam was one of those sorts who could make friends with everyone, I (back then anyway) was on the shy side. OK we also had "our own" bar stools at the California Club as well as reserved lakeside parking at Rattlesnake Bar (Folsom Lake) and a couple spots we could drive right up to on the Bear River. If memory serves me, this is a after swimming story. OK now we were also BAD about getting smashed and going over to party some more with fun new friends. This one time, a pretty cool guy Dave asked us over and when we got to his house there was the BIGGEST COOLEST HAPPIEST SMELLIEST dog I had ever seen in my life!!! No, really, not Dave....his dog, Ben. Ben was a Newfoundland. Anyone not knowing about Newfies. They are a tad bigger than St. Bernards. They are generally solid black in color. They have long, dense, oily coats and webbed paws. They are strong swimmers and because of their dense coats can withstand frigid waters and have rescued many shipwrecked sailors off the coast of iceland. Back to story. Dave said he was Bens third owner and that his first 2 owners were mean and had abused him. Dave had rehabilitated this sweet dog with love, love and more love. As long as you spoke to the dog in a normal tone of voice he would do anything. If you raised your voice, he would immediately become "deaf". Dave mentioned he was going out of town to work for 2-3 weeks. I volunteered ...hey if you need someone to babysit Ben ...oh please please let me do it but you gotta give him a bath first. Dave agreed. A few days later I came home from work to find Ben and about 25 lbs of dog food in my backyard. The kids told me "the guy" was coming back later with money for more dog food. I guess Dave forgot the part about givin him a bath. After several days passed and no Dave, I decided it was time to clean Ben up. He had matted smelly clumps of fur that I was unable to brush out so I decided that I would have to take him to professional groomer. ok.....dropped him off at the groomer in the morning. Received call that they are unable to brush out the fur, so a clipping was in order. I advised them to proceed. The groomer spoke with me before bringing Ben out to us. She stated that there was no option but to clip him for a fresh start and believe it or not dogs are sensitive about reactions to such a change and we needed to take care not to laugh at him. She goes to back and comes out with this huge azzzz LION roflmao. She had left the fur around his head on the longer side then he was clipped short until you got to the end of his tail where there was a tuft of long hair again. But boy o boy did he smell like a million bucks! 6 months go by. I come home from work one day and find Dave waiting for me. He says he just got back to town and hadn't secured housing yet so was taking Ben with him for few hours but would return him for night time. I told Dave we had really become attached to Ben and pointed out what a happy dog he was with the kids to play with and I felt he could have unlimited visitation but felt the dogs "home" should be with me. Well, Dave took Ben and couple hours turned into 2 weeks and I was heartbroken. Then, I came home from work as usual and there he was in the backyard! Oh my........what fun stories I can tell about Ben. And I will....but not right this second..............] To quote Bob Barker and Drew Carey.......Don't forget to have your pets spayed or neutered! |

Re: The New TSF Surgery - All Welcome! v. Even more Flesh
All I can say is I am sure glad the animals here do not get the same spayed or neutered treatment as they do in the Middle eastern countries(just two brick or a crucked roded shaft with no med's for pain.) I hate the idea of doing that stuff to any creature but I know it is better controlled then to suffer) Hansom get very unhappy when he can't be beside me. I wish humans could be as loving as other creatures.
![]() Told my folks today that the stress was killing me, Sugar was 592 this morning, my chest was hurting bad , blood pressure shoot thru the roof and this arguing had to stop, so I am taking a few days off and going somewhere to relax. Told them I got up early- got the garbage cans in, put up the christmas lights and tree, fix the trap door for Hamsom and made them some homemade biscuits. Mom's comment was" good hope your gone for a long time. Neadles to say I had a hard time eating and did a lot of inteneral crying. While I am gone I am looking into a Hud home and taking Hansom with me. I was really counting on there promous to live here so I could use the shop, paino-- be able to garden and live here at best I could in peace doing things to keep my drive up for what ever maybe the rest of my life. But find myself starting over like any youg person. It just ant going to happen. She could not get home fast enough telling dad to call relative to come help take care of them. No body deserves this kind of hatered. "happy new years" everyone!!!. ![]() Here is you new updated Motocycle JTP, you should have no problem finding gas for it.

Re: The New TSF Surgery - All Welcome! v. Even more Flesh
Here are a couple more cherished memories of Ben the Newfoundland...
If you say "Whooof" in a low voice, well that was his full on bark. Late one night I went outside to get something from my car. It was dark and as I rounded the corner of the garage I went down like a ton of bricks. I didn't see the dog laying there. He didn't even get up ...just looked at me like..What the heck did you do that for? The house we lived in was on a corner lot in a subdivision comprised of a series of cul-de-sacs. It wasn't a big city setting and we were basically outskirts/country'ish setting. We did have an ice cream man come around once or twice a week. If Ben was in the front yard when the ice cream man was rolling through, he would go sit on the curb. The ice cream man would stop and give him an ice cream! Someone was talking with me once and asked me if I had ever seen that huge dog that lays in the front yard of the house across from the park? And the cat curled up on top of the dog? Well, as a matter of fact...... On a hot summer day...going camping at the river....74 mustang hatchback(I think) (a glorified pinto) Me, 2 pre-teen kids, bedding, food, Tasha (husky/golden mix) and Ben. "Mommmm! Make Ben stop slobbering !" "Hey if your face was that big you'd be slobbering all over everything too!" (one of the negative qualities of that breed LOL) He was ALWAYS the first one in the water too! Last edited by Cathy95820; 01-03-2009 at 03:08 AM. |

Re: The New TSF Surgery - All Welcome! v. Even more Flesh
Hay I like that Cathy. I got one of them stories if I can dig it out that fits right in with your stories.
I really wish my problem could be fixed. At this point I just don't know what to do. It like dam if you do and dam if you don't. I wish I had to green to just go and not look back but life always has a way of catching up with you and I never walk away from any problem but this one is different. Hansom has learn how to get his toy bone and his got where he want me to toss it so he can get it. He sure is coming in handy right now. I have me med ins again which I can get my relaxing and depression meds again, maybe this will help. God bless youall. Hay did some one say something about snow, some one pack it up and send it to me!!!!

Re: The New TSF Surgery - All Welcome! v. Even more Flesh
Hi Cathy
![]() Good news about your meds DC, at least they will help reduce the stress, if not the problems. It's easier to deal with problems when you don't have a lot of stress getting in the way ![]() Many years ago, my local pub landlady had a Doberman Pinscher called 'Synba' as a pet/guard dog. To anyone on the customer-side of the bar, he was the biggest teddy-bear around. One day, Bridget (the landlady) asked me if I could help her shift some barrels in the cellar, except she forgot Synba was behind the bar. She lifted the bar-flap and I literally got one foot inside the bar area, when Synba came hurtling around the bar (A big Horseshoe shape) and stood approx 1" from my foot, growling and teeth bared. One word from Bridgette was all it took for him to be a teddy-bear again. Unfortunately, Synba was also a slobbery dog - So it didn't take long for the graffiti to appear in the gents toilets - 'Synba Drools OK...."

If you want to try it when you write something in a post or even a word document First you have to select it by holding down the Ctrl key then press the "A" key then you will see it highlight all of your text. (Ctrl + A = Select All) Second hold down the Ctrl key and press the "C" key this will copy the selection to your computers memory (known as clip board) this selection will stay on your computer untill you either switch the computer off or till you put something else on clip board. (Ctrl + C = Copy) Third Now you have it saved in case you need it only you have it all selected (it is all highlighted blue) and if you type something in this state it will all disappear and you will have lost everything (no not really it is on clipboard if you did Ctrl + C) but to keep things simple before you type just click once on the page to get rid of the highlighting so now you can go ahead and Submit your writing to the forum and if something goes wrong then click once in the quick reply box and hold down the Ctrl key and press the "V" key to paste from the clipboard to the quick reply box or you can click on the "Post reply" to paste it in there just remember to click there first to put the cursor where you want your text to go. (Ctrl + V = Paste) It may sound complicated but it is just three Key board short cuts that you can use in all areas of your computer I'm going to use them now to copy this to a word document so that you can print it out, only I will hold down my left mouse key and drag it over the text I want to select then I will copy Ctrl + C then past it to a word document Ctrl + V |

Re: The New TSF Surgery - All Welcome! v. Even more Flesh
Hi DC it's good to hear you have your meds again so hopefully it will help things.
Cathy I had a friend who had a Newfoundland dog and he always carried a towel for its slobber unfortunately he had a Newfy before this one and it jumped off a low cliff (I think) into the surf and drowned. The poor guy was heart broken and he had posters with the dogs picture on it asking if anyone found the body could they contact him because he wanted to bury the dog rather than leave it out there, but that was not to be. |
