Re: The New TSF Surgery - All Welcome! cont...

I tried graded lenses when I first needed bifocals and learned that I am one of the people who become nauseous when using them. I find that my computer glasses are perfect for reading and computer work. I wear the bifocals for pretty much everything else.

My old glasses were small, because my face is small and everyone told me the big glasses would look strange. But I found myself looking under the bottom corner a lot. Also, since I couldn't turn my head as far as most people, I often ended up looking at the hinge when waiting for traffic. Now I have a nice big pair of "pilot" style glasses. I can see an entire paperback page through the reading lens without moving my head and have excellent peripheral vision.

Now for my news! My son just told me today that his girlfriend is pregnant. I'm going to be a grandma! The baby's due in January.

Re: The New TSF Surgery - All Welcome! cont...

Congrats Granny gistek and I agree the bigger lenses are best. Last year I bought prescription polaroid sunglasses that have graded lenses and the person who was helping me talked me out of the large frames that I had selected and gave me some smaller ones and I am not happy with them. At 61 I am not so worried about looks I have won my heart I want practicality.

Hey DC I'm glad you had a good time and let your hair down

I'm long sighted, so I need a pair of glasses for close reading. Everything further away than about 4 feet is fuzzy. I do have other glasses that correct the long vision just slightly - everything is then in focus but I can't read anything such as a book or the PC...

How lovely, congratulations! Is this going to be a first grandbaby for you?

I have 7 total grandkids and we all live close to each other (we can clearly verify that Cathy is now beginning to repeat stories, please don't start rolling your eyes...........rofl)

Which quite coincidentally is the perfect lead in for this bit of news....Melissa along with an adult friend applied for and were approved to rent a 4 bedroom house. This is such good news for them as Melissa and her 4 kids and cat (tiger) have all been living in a small one bedroom apartment. But the bad news is...first of all, and since we are so close (in our hearts) I feel like they are moving to China...boo hoo LOL, It is within a 30 min walk or probably 10 minute or less bike ride....and SECOND............THERE GOES THE PHONE AND MY INTERNET CONNECTION.........................AGAIN...........

They are going on the first of June. Oh my all my splicing and stringing from 2nd story to 2nd story across the parking lot and ......oh well, at least we know I am fairly adept at creative problem solving..........stay tuned for updates and/or a sudden disappearance.

4 bedrooms? Then there's room for you to move in. They get a built in sitter, and you get free internet. What could be better?

Re: The New TSF Surgery - All Welcome! cont...

Gistek my sweet friend....move in with them???? Oh HELL NO! You must have missed the saga of living with them for a year. It was a bad scene LOL ... now mind you, I can be there 7 days a week 24 hours a day, but I MUST have a place to call MY home.

We are not the Cleaver's (Beaver).....more like the Conner's(Roseanne) LOL
My daughter had suggested since we were looking for a change from where we were and again are now living, that we stay a few months with her so as to save up some money, as well as send money in to get an old debt paid and off our credit report. Well, long story short, we didn't REALLY save, Melissa and my hubby Harold had a falling out and she told him to get the F out, which he did in the middle of November in pouring rain with his dog, and our tent down to the river with the other "homeless". Harold insisted I stay there. OK....he brings MeToo (dog) back as he is too agressive (at other dogs) and protective (and strong) for hanging out down there. BTW "my room", by choice, was the garage. OK skipping ahead....Harold rents room at hotel for men downtown Sacramento (there goes the savings as it cost more than our apartment by $50). Melissa is in the throws of total meltdown and now has live-in childcare so she pretty much comes and goes as she pleases. Other daughter and 3 kids moves in too and now I am losing my mind with 7 kids whose mommies are running amuck.....I was showing my temper one day and slammed the garage door as I exited....oh my God...She charged in and told me this was her house and if I didn't like it I could get the F out. It happened a couple more times after that for other reasons. She would always apologize and I know she would never have carried out such an order but how do you think that made me feel??? Made me feel like a big nobody. I had no where to go and no income to do anything even if I wanted to. Between apt. manager and the money her hubby would give me for babysitting (which I would have done for free rather than have anyone else watch them) LOL I had approx $300 mad money per month. Well when I lived with her she split w/hubby and couldn't afford to pay me and since I wasnt' at the apt anymore, I had zero, zip nada. I would lay in bed and think.....I wish I would wake up in my apt. and this would just be a dream. Well...a lot more drama and awful circumstance later (one year as a matter of fact) In the final days of her home being foreclosed on, our old apt became available and we moved right back EXACTLY where we started. (we had lived here 8 years...) Harold still wants to move somewhere else but this time I think we better have the somewhere else secured first!

LOL thats my view on living with them....I love em to death but I like and must be able to go home to MY home.

So back to new baby.....I love that new baby smell rofl.....you didn't answer ...is this gunna be first grandbaby?

@WereBo.....you got that right! I guess I will have to pay my old phone bill off and get it re-instated. I would have to bury the line underground and I doubt that Arnold (Schwarznegger) would want me diggin up the streets of Sacramento.

Sorry Cathy, I didn't realize there were so many problems.

As to your question, I answered it several other places, so I guess I just forgot I'd missed this thread.

Yes, this is the first grandbaby for me. It's also the first great-grand for my mom and hubby's dad (his mom and my dad have passed). Plus I think it's the first grandbaby for my son's girlfriend's family.

Also, I just found out that they haven't told her parents yet. We found out through MySpace. My son said they were planning to tell us in person this coming Thursday, but she forgot that she and my daughter are MySpace friends and she posted a photo of her home pregnancy test.

Well, good luck on your communications problems.
Hmmm. Unlimited cell plans are coming down in price, and there are several companies that include USB to cell devices. I wonder if that would work out better than the land-line for you.

SUPRIZE !!! baby make three !!! But is your refering to the brain, You can blame Glas, his the the one with the fuzzy eye sight, ..Ua.. you could get the STARTREK crew to donate some ROMULAN spaces brain and while your there, how about some for me.

Someone seem to have cut off my hair which was part of my brains .. Ua.. Brains..Ua.. Brains ------>< Does any one know which way to Bugger King is !!!!

Hay Cindy, we could connect a few thousand feet of number 4 alt wire with a few hundred feet of 22 gauge wire and if need be add some telephone wire that was transported back from IRAQ for splicing to fix your problem.

I was not suprise to found out that they have sign for another STARTREK movie.

I knew a woman whose husband's vasectomy reversed itself after about 7 years. So she had her tubes tied after her 2nd baby. Then that reversed itself 7 years later. She had three children each 7 years after the one before. (After the 3rd pregnancy she had uterus and ovaries removed.)
