Police Dog's Killer Jailed 7 Years
THE laughing knifeman who plunged a blade into the chest of Titan the police dog during a seven-hour siege was jailed for at least seven years yesterday.
Self-confessed white supremacist Luke Graham Curtis smiled and laughed at police as they begged him not to harm the dog moments before delivering a "single and fatal blow". The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to nine charges in the District Court over the siege in Seven Hills in western Sydney where he ran out to face police armed with two knives on December 22 and 23, 2004. Senior Constable McFayden, who was at the siege, told the court how the German shepherd grabbed Curtis's arm as he tried to flee. Sen-Constable McFayden said he aimed his gun at Curtis and said: "Don't hurt the dog, put the knife down." Instead, Curtis plunged his knife up to the hilt into the dog's body. http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,18733070-2,00.html ![]() R.I.P.

killing dog should not = 7 years.
Why should tax payer have to shell out and extra 50,000 for every year he stays in jail too keep someone locked up because a police officer got his feelings hurt. Or that's how I would feel if it was anyone else, but with this guy I say keep him locked up and let him find out how "close" the Arian brotherhood can be in state prison.

These dogs represent a huge investment of time and money, not to mention the personal connections with their trainers... (I suspect you'd be rather mad and upset if I killed your family pet, even if it is just a dog)
I know a police dog isn't a family pet, but you can't tell me that there isn't some kind of connection there. Prison isn't a cost-benefit situation, if it was, no one would go there.
