SAN JOSE, Calif., March 7 (UPI) -- Hybrid cars in California are taking the title of most-hated vehicle on the road away from SUVs as their gas-conscious drivers tend to observe the speed limit.

yea. my friends family owns a hybrid, and in order to get better gas milage, you have to drave a certain way. like by starting to stop WAY before the signs/lights, and accelerating slowly. makes sense

The problem is that they can drive in the carpool lane but they don't drive fast enough for the carpool lane.

The carpool lane is not a lane for speeding. Its users are obligated to follow the same speed limits as regular drivers. And it's about damn time someone starts realizing that by slowing down you save gas!
