What do you have under your PCs hood and why do you like it.

I decided to make this thread so I and other people can see the thousands of possiblitys and goods about computers and bads if there are any LOL also to give the crazy builders some brag i guess lol... ahem anyway right now i have: a pentium 2 processor... it doesnt matter what kind of powersupply because it runs nothing anyway lol a 6GB maxor hard drive, 320 mb of ram at maybe 233 mhz (i doesnt matter what kind of ram because its probably not even a brand anymore) a flat white case ... its not a tower lol... toshiba cd rom drive that sadly doesnt work it makes a weird noise eveytime i start my computer because its dead lol. a floppy drive that is amazingly built in the case it works for some reason. and a intergrated ethernet that sadly is old and doesnt work anymore. so i have dial up internet. what do i like about this PC .......... i have no idea... what i dont like i think i told you.....LOL alright someone tell me about there awesome computer so i will fell happier lol.

Magic.

The only thing I like is the fact that I have a 250 gb hdd. But then I don't like it because I should have used Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost to transfer data rahter than XXClone.....

P4 1.8ghz
640 mb RAM
Umm... Intel Mobo
Intel integrated graphics card
Yada yada

I rather like the 4 x 200GB HDD's in mine, but I haven't got round to putting a RAID card in there yet. I've got onboard RAID on the motherboard, but it doesn't support RAID 5 so I haven't implemented it.

The 2GB of RAM is rather handy too. Page file? What page file!

Oh, and my Benq DW1640 CD/DVD +- RW drive. Wonderful bit of kit that is, it supports copying of just about every known form of copy protection without byte patching or suchlike, so I've got all of my games safely imaged on my hard drives. Never need to touch the CD's again

Other than that, here's the specs:

Generic Midi Tower case (I'm not into visual modding much),
Antec 560W PSU,
MSI Intel 925X MoBo,
Intel P4 550 (3.4GHz /w HT),
2x Corsair 1GB DDR2 RAM,
Sapphire Radeon x700 Pro PCI-E 256MB,
Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum,
4x 200GB Western Digital Caviar S-ATA HDDs
Benq DW1640 DVD+-RW, Liteon DVD+-RW, Generic DVD-ROM

About GBP£1200 (I think, it was put together over the course of about 6 months so I'm not positive on the amounts)

I'm currently saving up to get another similar, but with everything I wanted in the first place on that one. I'm expecting to pay about £2000, but boy will it be worth it!

Based on the fact that most of my stuff is paid for by my expense account at work, I like it all!!

Nice bit of kit there ReeKorl - you wouldn't like to save for me as well would you?

Generic Tower (I'd REALLY like an Antec)
450W psu
P4 530 3.0 Ghz PresHOT (sorry Prescott core)
ASUS P5P800 mobo
2 x 512 Crucial DDR400 PC3200 RAM
120 Gb Maxtor & 80 Gb Hitachi
nVidia FX5200 AGP card (really should upgrade this but I'm not desparate at the moment)
SB Live
19" Compaq monitor
CD-RW and DVD ROM drives (A DVD writer at some point)

That's about it. I'm not a gamer so I prefer Intel chips.

I am willing to wager that Reekorl can process a complex math or probabiltty problem faster than his PC.

That's why I'm putting together such a beast of a rig - so I can take some of the load off myself

My home rig:

Old Compaq Presario
900MHz - AMD.
640 (or there about) PC100 RAM
2 x 120GB HD
DVD Burner - generic
CD Rom - generic
video card - old
sound card - old

I do have a nice Logitec wireless mouse and keyboard.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I view all of that ancient stuff on a 46 Samsung DLP high definition TV.

It's a 46" DLP. It has both VGA and DVI inputs. I got it for $1600 about a year ago. They're about $2K now.

Abit Fatal1ty AN8-SLI
4 GB Corsair XMS PC-3200
2x XFX GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB in SLI
PC Power and Cooling Turbo 850W PSU
Onboard 7.1 sound (not big into sound. If I can hear it, thats enough for me)
