cell phones

i want one, but if i did, hopefully i would turn it off dring school. teachers are always telling us to do this, so i thought this was a goofy story:

it was in the middle of a study hall (the quitest class for some of us) and we hear a ringing. this isnt a soft one, but a really loud song. we are all thinking, "alright, who is busted now?" but then we see our art teacher go over and pick up his and start talking. this might not seem that bad, but he hates cell phones when they go off in class, so we all though it was really funny. and appearently it happens every day. goes to show that some teacher (definently not all) have what they call "detention phones" also and use them during school. i just dont like it when anyone has a cell phone go off during anything quite

Just a part of common sense. Doesnt take a genius to realize not to disturb others is a good manner. On the other hand communication is everything in life. You have to leave a tolerance space to " what if's " Modern cell phones have a vibrate first feature. So the person may get excused to leave the room and then come back. Many teachers would allow this. :)

I remember, back in the late 70s early 80s, when I was in high school, we didn't have cell phones. If I was a teacher and heard one go off, it would be confiscated.

I always leave mine on vibrate. People hate it because when I get home I night, I empty my pockets and, oops, there's my cell phone sitting on my dresser in the bedroom where I can't feel the vibrating. Oh well, if people want to get ahold of us bad enough, they call my wifes phone. (We don't have a land line)
