Movie theater apologizes

Movie theater apologizes for kicking out disabled man for laughing too much, offers private screening of "The Pink Panther" so he won't bother anyone else .

http://www.stpetetimes.com/2006/03/0..._apologi.shtml

please someone set up a poll : are u with or against ?

ps :
And theaters can't figure out why there's a box office slump? Stuff like this. Who wants to go to a theater and listen to somebody's disabled kid ruin the movie? I mean, hey, I feel bad for the kid and all, but I still paid 9 bucks to watch the movie in peace, not listen to someone else watch the movie.

Well, I voted Yes.

I've complained about noise makers in the past, and in a darkened cinema it's impossible to tell exactly their situation. My own view is that the school should organise an outing for all the kids and arraneg for one screen to be theirs exclusively. Does that mean I'm heartless? I don't think so. Everyone who goes to any cinema, theatre or whatever has the right to enjoy the event - and by everyone I mean able bodied and the disabled.

My tuppence worth anyway.

Things that bother me at the movies:

Talking

Cell phones

Prices: food

Prices: tickets

ID checks of a 6 foot tall man (I blame dateline and 20/20 for this one)

Small screen sizes (either make all the screen sizes the same or charge less when you move the movie from the lobby to one of the crappy side theaters)

Commercials

Bad music. The music they play while showing those trivia questions you've answered a thousand times if you come in early is tripe.

I voted no because the guy probably would have enjoyed it just as much on DVD without causing others to have a bad experience.

When I hear a cell phone go off I just want to stomp over and throttle the person. I don't pay $8+ to go listen to someone else's conversation about how their herpes is calming down. Hell no!

You know what really gets to me, the instructor says the first day of class to turn off the cell when you enter the class, but almost every other session you hear those dam phones. Cells were cute at first, but they've been around long enough that people should know to turn the dam things off!

There was that "special needs" kid whose father insisted he deserved to bethere in the theatre when I went to see Narnia. The kid wasn't laughing but making loud screams every now and then. People kept telling him to leave but he never did. I left .
I went to see another movie a couple months ago and haven't been back to a theater since, partly because of the horrible behavior of this woman and her 4 kids. One was disabled and in a wheel chair, constantly yipping and squealing down front for ALL to be distracted by. One of her kids was an infant who cried through most of film, one was a toddler who ran circles around the theater continually, and the last one was probably 6 or 7 and in charge of the screaming infant when the mom had to chase the toddler around the theater. What an enjoyable movie experience THAT was for everyone. I finally couldn't take it anymore and said something to a ticket taker outside. Things did quiet down for a little while, but it didn't last.
Now I see why people prefer to download movies ,or wait 6 months until it comes on dvds .

I Think there may be some confusion, are you asking if the movie theater was wrong to kick him out or wrong to give him a private screening?

Bad experiences will do that to you. They did an experiment where they told this guy they would pay for him to go to a movie if he ate all the popcorn he physically could, well long story short the guy got sick and hasn't returned to a theater since. It'll take a some reverse-conditioningverseconditioning to get him to go back.

1 - was the movie theater wrong or right to kick that boy out ,
that s what the poll should say .

I can't even put my feet up on the chairs at my theater because they're all connected and if I move one it messes with the entire row.

I'm more talking about people who download bootleg versions.
