Employers having trouble finding skilled workers as the number of graduates whose main talents are text messaging and World of Warcraft increase...and counter strike

Well maybe some of these employers shouldnt be looking for qualifications that DONT pertain to that particular job. One of my friends went to apply for a production welders job and was told he needed a CDL. He asked do they weld at customers places, they said no, they just want people who have CDL's. Why do they want a CDL if they dont even weld off site or move heavy trucks? Isnt the only one either. One place told him that they rather have someone who has no experience so they can learn it their way. But yet the advert said "EXPERIENCED". Or places that advertise 1st shift m-f but in reality its a rolling shift 7pm to 7am.

Alot of employers who are hiring for jobs which traditionally dont require post high school training are now in some screwed up notion that they need people with at least an associates degree to turn a freaking nut on a bolt.
