What's your fastest way of text messaging?

What do you think? I ask because I had a sidekick forever that I just dropped in a glass of water about a month ago, and now I'm back to a regualar phone. I used to think that QWERTY keyboards were it, and that nothing was easier or faster, but now I've discovered predictive text and gotten good at it, I use T9, they have a tutorial to help with speed, here: www.textfast.t9.com

I agree. I was trying to use T9 on my phone to write a memo and it gave me everything but what I wanted. From now on my text messages will be written on scraps of paper.

I don't use text messaging and I despise people that use it. It just makes people lazy. You have the damm phone in your hand!!! Dial the number and talk to the son-of-a-b**ch!!!

Gah! I couldn't even type my name with that stuff!

*enters "P"*
*enters "a"*
"Pan" shows up

And repeat 7 times, and you have my first experience with text messaging.

Yeah, you have to cycle through the words T9 predicts to get the right one, but the idea is that once you get the hang of it it's fewer keystrokes than the amazing amount needed to get the same point across by traditional texting. The trick is to look at what it is predicting instead of what you are entering. And look at the tutorial on the website, if that doesn't learn ya.

I rarely text. When I do, I don't use predictive text, for all the reasons already mentioned. But I do annoy people by spelling out all my text words in full - no funky street cred shorthand for me! (don't even know what that is anyway )

Aww, y'all are missing out on the beauty of T9 culture: Freudian slips. When T9 predicts a word that is funny in relation to the original word sought:

I do know if I dial a persons number, I can generally talk to him when he answers.

But if I make a Freudian slip while talking it's MUCH funnier.

A Freudian Slip is when you say what you're really thinking even though you entended to say something else. For example: Saying "That dress sure makes you look gross." But you intended to say "That dress sure makes you look great." Even though it does make hiim ( ) look gross, you didn't want to hurt his feelings.

When a machine puts the wrong word in - its called a mistake. It may be funny buit its still a fault.
