Being in the pit is the pinnacle of hardcore concerts. I personally do not like them because the idea of being punched, kicked, and generally abused does not appeal to me.

My friend who lives in New Orleans is very intelligent, but he loves being in the pits; I have no idea why because he's always telling me, Man I got this bruise from this one guy.... My bro punched out this one guy..." and so on and so forth. He likes to listen to Ska/Punk music.

A true punk mosh pit is not people kicking and punching. I have been in many mosh pits and when you fall down people will pick you up and nobody getts hurt. But when people come that think mosh pits are just for fighting that is when there are problems. Most times those guy get taken out and everyone goes back to having fun.

That sounds like a lot of fun to me.

I should go to a concert sometime, I just wish they weren't so expensive...

You've never been to a concert? I thought you were into music?

There are ways to get in for free or cheap. Wait outside the venue until the support act has started playing then you can usually get a ticket for half price. Local bands or venues with talent nights are sometimes free. Or offer the drummer sexual favors and they'll let you go backstage.

I'm getting too old for the moshpit, but stage-diving is fun... as long as the crowd catches you!

I spent many a fine year here

http://www.inthewilderness.com/apollo/

until it burned down.

The conference centre just isn't the same - no balcony to bounce up and down!
