shout out from the philippines and to tech support guys; anyone into science fiction?

Hi! I used to log in to Tech Support under a different user name, but I lost my password so I registered a new account. This site was extremely useful to me and I applaud the professional computer guys behind this in pursuing their noble cause! =)

I used to take up Computer Science but I only lasted for a semester because the math is so friggin hard!!!! That plus I wasn't the technical person to begin with. So I've leaped from Computer Science to Communications Technolgoy Management to Creative Writing in Ateneo. =)

Is anyone here from the Philippines? And who's into SF? Just asking.. =)

I like Science Fiction, but not that much of it. If it's too hard to grasp then I won't read it. My favorite Sci-Fi/Fanstasy novels are the Star Wars books.

I'm not from the Phillipines either, but I've read some science fiction. Stuff about the future interests me most because I like seeing all the ideas people have about it.

Scotsman here (person NOT the newspaper) and I'll disagree with sinclair:

Isaac Asimov

The greatest living SF writer, I believe, is Arthur C. Clarke. Asimov however remains unparalleled. =)

well, i like asimov too. but i really loved the rama and space odyssey books. all in all, i am a sf fan. i don't care much for fantasy type sf, but what i can hard core sf. things that have to do with earth(us) and space travel and exploration near by. i did like asimov's robot stories. now i'm rambling.

Hey ramble on!! The robot stories were superb as was the original Foundation trilogy. I like a lot of other stuff as well, but like yourself I'm not much into the fantasy side.
