Happy MLK day to all. The thing that impresses me is that his legacy has touched kids today. Mu daughter knows that he was a man who just wanted everyone treaeted the same. If only we all had this interpretation of this great man.

He also took it as a reason to blame Bush for everything, linking Katrina to Bush being a racist (inference).

That went against MLK's preachings.

I can clearly remember watching the footage of Rev King leading the protest march in Selma, Ala. Since 1959, he had dedicatd himself entirely to the issues of human rights, but that day was a milestone.

I remember seeing, on the news, the footage of his Washington speech. I have carried around with me that part about "my children being judged, not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their charactor...I have a dream".

1968 was a vry touch year for the civil rights movement, as Robert Kennedy was also killed that year, but the legacies of Rev King, Sen. Robert Kennedy and President John F Kennedy allowed (forced) the movement forward.

Good day, Reverend. Your light continues to be "like a lamp unto our feet".

I watched a PBS show last night called Citizen King. They said when he died, his looke like that of a 60 year old. He was 39. That is what dedicating his life to the movement did to him.
