Can someone check my math project?

I had to make a 12 days of Christmas math project about finding the formula used to determine how many gifts she received each day.

Attached is my excel file, my teacher allowed me to use a spreadsheet, which has my formula. This isn't due til the 14th, and I'd like to get a few inputs before then. No, it does not have a virus, just an excel worksheet.

when i opened it, the number of gifts were all wrong, am i missing something?

Oh sorry bout that. Those numbers are the total amount of each gift she received. On the first day she got a partridge in a pear tree, and the total amount of partridges in pear trees is 12 etc.

The whole point is really just to derive the formula for finding out how to predict how much of each gift she will recieve total.

EDIT: I edited the worksheet to where it now says total amount instead of just amount. And I added "Day" to the first column.

how did you derive the formula?

I'm a bit confused, I must admit... the numbers seem random to me, just a simple mathematical manipulation of which day it is...

perhaps there is something we are missing?

oh thats right, i forgot

, she got a pear tree every day, then 2 doves every day after day 2, and so on. if you used that formula to get those numbers, then it looks all right to me, but if the teacher says its wrong, don't blame it on me

. i'm a little rusty on this kind of math.
