I like Opera. Hasnt been too long but really enjoy it. v9.0 gave me some headache with the downloads, java and using gmail. I switched back to 8.5 and its fine now.

I hope google can come up with an OS soon. I am really looking forward to. Using a different browser is not satisfying me i need to use a different OS to ease down my anger against MS. I am really delighted to see how Open Office shook their MS Office sales :)) AHAHAH

I use Opera.

IMO the look is much more compact than Firefox. I don't maximize the window, and in Firefox it just looks weird non-maximized. I also like Opera because much less vulnerable than IE, and much less attacked than Firefox. Just some websites have pics and stuff that I can't see in Opera, but I can in Firefox.

I like MS Office PS, I don't really like OO.o. It's alright but I know more about Word and Powerpoint than OO.o's Slide Show maker and Word Processor. And MS Office has more features than OO.o: Drop Cap, and a few others. (My mind literally blanked when I tried to think of something else)

Oh, LOL! I just went to Fry's (I bought a 512 mb Corsair flash drive, but under properties it says 495 mb.....) and I saw one of the workers comps. They use OO.o when they sell MS Office!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was ironic

LoL i got my first Opera spyware today. Wasnt wild. What makes these browsers safe is they dont use active x. IE has a lot more security then these browsers to be honest.

I use Firefox, because of facility, flexibility and principally extensions how Gmail, Orkut, Mouse Gesture etc.

My version of Firefox is absolutely ****ed. I have everything the way I wanted. Mouse gestures, the bookmarks toolbar, almost no ads at all (no exaggeration, I use a program that blocks by DNS and wildcard subdomains of those).

I don't think I'm going to switch to anything else. Ever.

The only thing that could possibly make it better is better scrolling. Faster, smoother, and more accurate scrolling.

Thanks, but I tried that a while back, and could never get used to it. I think it was because changing the "scroll by" or whatever didn't make any difference. I think it conflited with my TweakUI settings.

At any rate, I'm still more than happy with Mozilla.

i usse netscape on my win xp and safari on my mac. love the tabbing on both, and the fact that netscape can render safe pages with ie's engine, which means i can run windows update without lanching ie, unlike with ff.

I use Firefox even though it still has a number of obvious bugs that should have been fixed long ago. I may switch to the Opera camp in the future if I ever figure out how to get a new window to resize exactly over the last one instead of in a decending diagonal direction.

Hi,

Use both IE and Opera on both of my machines. I find that opera has many features that IE is still thinking about. Have also dabbled with firefox, but still don't like it as well as Opera, but don't have anything negative to say about it. If I had to choose only one....Opera would be my choice at this time.

I use IE 6 on all of my machines. I tried FF but didn't find it to my liking. Opera had ads. WTF. Used Netscape back in the day and before that I was using something called WebCrawler if I remember right.

IE hasn't given me any problems nor have I had any huge spyware/adware issues. A browser is only as secure as the sites it shows you.

I disagree. Internet Explorer is inherently prone to exploitation because of ActiveX. I can't even tell you how many computers I've seen infected with god knows what because microsoft didn't have the foresight to realize that putting the scripting security to medium by default would allow everything in with an inadvertent click of the "yes" button, or sometimes even without. And it doesn't take a whole lot to make it onto a site that'll do that.

Sure, mozilla has weaker points, but nothing like that.

Hi,

A couple of clarifications about using both IE6 and Opera. I stated that I use both, but wanted to clarify why I like the features of Opera better.

First of all, I have no problems with IE6 and have used IE for years. I only like the opera better because of the features, but can not say anything bad about my experience with IE. I don't have any IE problems with security, infections, ads, pop-up, spyware, malware, explotation, or other annoying symptoms. Frankly, I do like IE6, but it does lack some extra features that opera has and I feel it is slightly slower than Opera.

Yes, I know what I am doing with a computer and know how to handle security.
