SPAM with some irony

I thought this was funny... I got spam from someone posing as eBay, asking for me to update my account information or else it would be terminated. (I don't even have an eBay account.) The irony? Here is the subject of the email:

Yeah, it's pretty crazy.

There are some pretty convincing Paypal scams going around by email also. I have a paypal account and the email they sent me looked real legit. I had to google it to see if it was a scam or not, and sure enough...

hmm, maybe www.spam.com?
edit: an afterthought... I remember Spam (the legit Spam, owned by Hormel I think), trying to take legal action so that the term spam wasn't used to describe malicious or junky email. I guess they didn't do so well.

My System

I have received Fishing From both in my hotmail account and neither one has it. If I get then in my regular account I Forward them to SPOOF@paypal.com or ebay which ever it happens to be, Lately I have been getting them from bid-pay, telling me they can't insert there banner into my auction listing (Didn't have anything listed at the time) . The Scary part is studies show that 28% of the people that receive these supply the info asked for.

I got the same email as was mentioned earlier asking to update the account- Gmail actually labelled it with a red warning banner.

Be very careful , i suggest you to delete it and not follow the link provided by them to update your account ,, once you go there you will get slammed with a malicious script .

Defiantly DO NOT FOLLOW the Link. Ebay and Pay-Pal would like to have these sent to them so they can try and trace them.

EBay's got a big office/call center in my town and I know about 3-4 people (friends of friends, and professional contacts..) that work in their fraud department. They do acutally take the time to investigate these things & work to shut them down.
