How much have you learned here at TSF?

I didn't see another thread like it so...

Back when I signed up it was cuz I had a trojan on my rig, and bry fixed it

But, I soon joined the academy, and I (I was a total n00bz0r) remember pm'ming elf and asking him what a running process was

Now: I've used Linux and been fairly good at it, learned/learning how to kill malware, have changed my Windoze shell (note the pic in my sig) etc etc...... All of this in ... approx 6 months.....

How much have you guys and gals learned?

Well, since this thread doesn't state that it had to be within the forum walls....

I have learned many things, such as and not limited to (of course):
a little bit of programming
HTML
How hardware works
Fixing windows problems
File locations
hijackthislog analyzing (still training )
installing programs
removing programs
and i am about to learn graphic design and more C++

I blame TSF, T-F, and TSG for getting me so into computers... not that i'd ever hold it against em though!!

I have learned too much to even list. And I know it's going to help me a whole lot once I get out into the work force. The fact that I'm giving it back every day makes me feel awesome, too.

My response is like that of Fox's; I've learned TONS here even though I came in with a good deal of knowledge already. Major ups to the TSF crew!

I completely agree! Learning this much does make you feel more confident in going into work on computers. I, as well, enjoy giving it back to the others. It is nice to hear a thank you from them though... which i am not seeing as much as i thought i would...

While i can't say exactly, I do know that my general understanding of technical stuff has expanded quite a bit.

before I wouldn't have even know that a 128 vid card was a bad buy and that it was worth it to get the extra MB.

Actually, the more important part is the memory bus width. 128bit and higher is what you want.

Oh... uhm... Oops?

I've always thought that anything over 128MB on a video card was unneccessarily excessive

well I'm a cheap a** so that 128 is buffering a crappy card, so i figure that if I go for more memory the cheaper card will run smoother.

now if you're talking about a 6800 or something you're probably right about it being excessive, but the crappier the card the more I'll benefit off of memory right?

1. I do not want windows XP HOME.
2. Glad I do not plan on working on computers for a living, (after I retire in 25 mo).
3. There a lot of great people hangin around here.
It's nice to be able to try and help people with some of the things I have learned since my first 8086 4.7mhz w/ dos 3.1.

Good thread!!

I first had a printer problem 3 1/2 years ago. Don't know who helped me out. Every time I googled a problem I always got a link here. Then I got some spyware and CTSNKY helped me out. Then I helped people out and noticed I could be more helpful if I learned spyware cleanup and here I am today. I have learned much about computers and in the offline section, I learn about people and myself.

Glad I could help you henry!!! I hope you have the chance to help someone out like that in the future. Now I ma going to have a good day. Thanks for the love.

I've learned that users are "special" no matter where you go.

I can't say I have learned a great deal, but I have learned a number of useful Windows tips to make life/troubleshooting easier.
