Companies that build their own...

Hi all,

We are doing some research and trying to find if there are compaines out there that build there own workstations VS buying them from like Dell or somewhere..does anyone know of some?

Sure, Dell, HP, IBM, Apple, etc.

Actually, you probably won't find anything like this from any company that is worth their weight in gold. If a company built their own computers from scratch, then they would have no way to purchase support if something went wrong. They would be stuck trying to fix the problems themselves.

lol......my small company is considering this becasue it is so much cheaper to build them, but we need to see like some case studies...

My System

You'd have to prove to me that you can save money over the life of the machine.

And it's more than hardware. Our PC's come with XP Pro, MS Office, Symantec anti-virus (I know is sucks but hey what can I say), adobe, etc. all w/ full licenses.

Factor in the time for your tech's to build and repair them. (We have 3 year warranties - already replaced my MB once.)

You might be able to beat the $800 +- we pay Dell or HP but I doubt it.
