We've become so politically correct we look like idiots to the rest of the world.

I think if we get rid of all of the Indian mascot names, then we need to change the names of most of our states counties and rivers too. Ohio means beautiful river or something like that, but Indian names are probably too offensive. I think we should name it West Pennsylvannia, unless that offends the Quakers or directionally challenged people.

Hi,

Being from Michigan, I would like for Indiana (not a politically correct word) to become politically correct so we know what is going on.

I drove through Indiana the other day while on the way home and saw at least ten strip joints in Indianapolis. Anyhow, after seeing these strip joints and one of them being called Diane's place, I actually think it would be more politically correct to call that place Sindiana.

Now some, might say the word Indian is still in there and to those I would say, no it isn't. We are talking here about Sin Diana. We will now call it Sin Diana............That my friends is pollitically correct and would therefore make my journey through that sinful place more pleasant..

Heck, why don't we just go way back and go to Norhtwest Territory?? I use it all of the time. It's how I feel a kinship with people in IL,IN,MI,and WI............. all Indian names by the way.

But we have come a long way. In the 17th 18th and 19th centuries, us whities killed the indian. In the 20th century, we ridiculed them (check out any 50's cowboy movie). In the 21st century, are we shwoing them respect, or clearing our collective consicence??

On a side note, a Native American (I am native to America) intermural team called themselves the fighting whities :gasp:
