hehe have you ever put netbus on someone's comp? it's hilarious...in my Security and Applications of Technology class we got to play with netbus, you can make error messages like those, that show up on the target computers screen.
note: netbus is a trojan and I am not promoting it's use...although it is funny (any, and every antivirus catches it now...)

NT had netsend I think... you can find freeware programs like this:http://www.fomine.com/netsend.html
that try to emulate it. Some amusement potential there.

When I was running a Ntware 3.21 network, we installed some dial-up access servers. Now, these wonderfull little machines allowed us not only to see who was online, but also saw their screen and our keyboard took priority over theirs.
This had potential .... I waited for a particulary gullibe user to log on, and when they got to their c:\ prompt (DOS days, folks), they typed in menu ... I quickly exited the menu and typed in NO! ... a few seconds went by, then backspaced over the NO! and started typing in menu ... I deleted that and typed in I SAID NO! ... the phone rang almost immediately ... I wanted to keep it going, but I couldn't stop laughing when they told me that their pc was "Talking back and being rude" |

hahahahaha awesome.
I remember a while back, when netsend got real big, I figured it out before any of my fellow nerds and named my computer God. Started sending people messages...oh it was great. I let one of my friends in on the secret and he created a java program that would spam netsend messages as many times as you chose. Then we really had some fun
