Too much time on the PC

Maybe I'm spending too long on the computer, but over the last few months I've noticed my wrist bone on my 'mouse hand' is turning red and sore, like a guitarist's fingertips.

Am I the only one or is this the stigmata of a true PC geek?

I've had one on my right wrist for years now, the left wrist only developed after I bought my new keyboard.

As a drummer, I just have tough hands. I don't think I'll ever get something like that.

Is that realy how you got tough hands??

I am left handed and learned righty mouse like everyone else. I have my pc set up now as a lefty mouse. So whenever one starts to hurt, I switch hands.

I'm amazed I don't have carpal tunnel. Then again, I don't type with my hands facing straight ahead even though I use traditional keyboards.

I do wear glasses, though.

I guess so. So many years of fingers between sticks and rims will do that to you.

heh....

about 4 months ago, i thought that my wrist bones were going to break through the skin because my "mouse rash" was so bad, even though i had a soft gel wrist pad.

what i did, was to take my mouse platter, (which happens to be a 1/2 inch thick slab of stone) and i lifted one side up almost 2 inches, so that it's tilted about 12 degrees.

now, my wrist sits at a confortable angle, and my "mouse rash" is totally gone.
