We recently rolled out "help chat" at work for our customers.. here's my favorite transcript so far....
Names have been changed to protect the innocent... :) "I KEEP GETTING ILEGAL PROGRAM"** You are now speaking with TECH, DEPARTMENT. ** TECH : Which program is giving you the error? USER: i,AM THINKING USER: INTERNET EXPLORER TECH : When does it crash? USER: AS SOON AS I GO TO ANYTHING TECH : How did you get to this chat? USER: FROM INTERNET EXPLORER TECH : What is the exact error you're recieving? USER: HOW CAN I TALK TO PERSON LIVE TECH : You can call us at USER: I GET THIS PROGRAM HAS ---ILLEGAL OPERATION TECH : and in the details window? USER: DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN TECH : When you get the error, click on the details button TECH : button USER: THEN WHAT TECH : What does it say in there? USER: DIDNT TRY IT MAY I CALL YOU TECH : You can call us at USER: MAY TALK TO YOU TECH ? TECH : You may speak to any technician here. USER: I WILL TRY THE CALL USER: Your party has left this session.
