I remember those days.

The problem is FireFox boys, you'll have to break out the old IE for this gem. Using IE will really sets the mood for a vid about dial up, their both extremely out dated

Works for me in Firefox, but maybe mine's setup different. I just click the link and it opens Media Player Classic to play full screen.

On this subject of convincing significant others. My ploy used to be 'box clever'. If a request was refused, I would offer to 'take over' the household finances. Start investigating credit card purchases by sig other (because if it's a female) they will often be shoes or clothes. Ever noticed she's wearing something you have'nt seen before? The general reply when you notice is "Oh, I've had it for a long time". Yeah, right. Even the mere mention of taking over the finances get's you pretty much anything you want, within reason.

Anyway, I think on this subject Jonss is right on. What one must say is, honey, just think when I get DSL, then it will take much less time to get my things done on the internet....and, guess what, I will have so much more time to do the many things you want around here.....Tell her to start her list on the very day that she lets you order DSL, because you are going to have so much more free time to give to her.

Sadly, I cannot get broadband at my home. The cable compnay stops one stree east of me and I am too far away for the phone company to even give me ISDN. It is too wooded for sattelite. I could get a T1, but that is way to much.
