The Creature from Boggy Creek

Jaws

Alien (only #1 though)

House on Haunted Hill (circa 1960's with Vincent Price)

The key to a good scary movie is tension - not just blood and gore. I mean how scary is when the big breasted cheerleader is getting naked so you know she's about to die. How it happens really doesn't matter then.

*Look at me I'm a scarrrry clown!! OH NO WAIT IM A GIANT ALIEN SPIDER WITH MAGICAL LURE KIDS TO THEIR DEATH POWERS MWAHHA!!*

I find the concept sooooooo stupid there's no possibility of it ever being scary 0_0 That movie actually drained what respect I had left for that author. And don't get me started on Red Rose.

Anyway back to topic lol, movies stopped being scary when I was 12. Now the best I can hope for is those super startling moments.. like when that alien's chest popped open in Independence Day, that was nice! Jurassic Park did a pretty sweet job too.. remember when that chick is trying to turn the power back on and the black dude scares her by putting his arm on her shoulder.. but then she notices the arm is a bloody stub!!

What??!!??

It is classic King - good v evil, where evil is insanely powerfull but limited by the imagination of its prey. How the main characters experienced the same events as children and adults paralleled evil's capers every (30?) years ... The Clown/Spider/Whatever and the Turtle work - remember they were beings interpreted by children (and thus defined).

Rose Madder - however - well, it was interesting.

Hey FOX, long time..

I like to stop by every now and then.

I agree. IT was scary back in the day. It was on TV a few weeks back..and it wasn't what I remembered it to be.

The Others was arite... I liked that.. Grudge totally sucked, dark water was horrible. I cant remember the other scary ones i saw recently. The descent was stupid.

All the new ones so far..arent that good. I remember a couple of real scary ghost movies when i was younger that were real good. Theres this one where the ghost...follows the family around.. and when the parents sleep they hear whispering in the pillows. I think that one was based on a true story though and i Cant recall what is was called. I think I mite try Rosemarys Baby.

Dawn of the Dead was good...not real scary, but fun to watch in a gory, watch everyone die, sort of way

The recent "Kung Pow" movie was the scariest thing I've ever seen. It wasn't a horror movie, but so bad that it was frightening.
If you've seen dawn of the dead, have you seen shaun of the dead?

Shaun of the Dead was pretty good. But, I like British humor.

Kung Pow was well done tech-wise, but whoever sold that script to Hollywood could sell peace to the Middle East.

If you watch something when you are young, that scares you pretty good. For me it was either Salem's Lot or The Day After
