Must be over 18 to clean your keyboard.

Stores such as staples are now requiring ID to but key board cleaners. This comes after several cases of teens huffing the dangerous chemicals. I think a simple disclamer saying my cause brain damage when inhaled would do it but I guess not.

And from what I've heard about it, you pass out and wake up feeling sick, so I'm not sure why this became so popular? lol

hmmm it sometimes sounds like ppl are advertising stuff like that by banning them. Something banned, illegal automaticly becomes interesting even "cool" . Same thing happens in the news all the times. The other day there was this news talking about prostitution in the city. They gave street names and everything. People who didnt even have a clue about thos places 'knew' where after that. Same with the papers cans etc. Dont they have any other (smarter i want to say) ways to handle this kind of stuff ?

You see, the same problem occurs in computing..... Microsoft discover a possible security hole in the way jpg files are handled, there's a possible buffer overflow which could allow code to be executed. They haven't seen any proof of concept code, but have made the security patch anyway.

Now, they can't just release a security patch without telling people what it does, and they can't really lie or someone would look at the code and prove them wrong, so they have to tell the truth. This means they have released info about the security hole, and you can be sure some people will instantly start working on an exploit.

The act of securing the software actually creates extra problems for the many who haven't got the security patch.

There isn't really any way to let people know about a solution unless they let them know about the problem also - 'If it 'aint broke, don't fix it' most people think as they don't know that it isbroke.

I think some country singer was found passed out in a store with 3 empty aerosol cans next to her.

As far as your keyboard goes, I unplug my keyboar, run it through some hot water and set it on a towel to dry overnight.

Sure it wasn't hair spray?

Think it would work on my laptop?

On my docked keyboard, I just turn it over every now and them to shake the bagel crumbs out. I've never cleaned one and can't remember one failing. I never spilled soda on one, in which case a soaking might be in order.

Kidding aside, it is truely a hazard. Here's what the Material Safety Data Sheet says about "Canned Air"

Chronic / Long Term Effects: Reports have associated repeated and prolonged occupational
overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage.
Signs and Symptoms of Overexposure: Gross overexposure may cause central nervous system
depression with dizziness, confusion, incoordination, drowsiness or unconsciousness.
Irregular heartbeat with a strange sensation in the chest, "heart thumping",
apprehension, lightheadedness, feeling of fainting, dizziness, weakness, sometimes
progressing to loss of consciousness and death.

Actually I believe they were cans of Whipped Cream, which is hilarious. She was in the store chugging whipped cream, and she inhaled too much gas and passed out on the floor. Only way that could be more embarassing is if she was naked

Kind of like the indoors version of Margot Kidder.

I don't see the necessity for a complete juvenile ban. If they're that worried about their liability then let the tellers use their best judgement. If they look shady either refuse the sale or call the parents for approval. I don't see where it's the vendor's place to parent our children, should be up to the parents in my opinion.

I don't know what it is that made me different from other kids but when I was younger I valued my brain cells. May be it was that "if you lose them you don't get them back thing", which apparently is no longer true.

My parents made me sufficiently afraid of what they would do to prevent me from doing something that stupid. And now I'm old enough to value what brain cells I have left.

EXACTLY!

My parents did the same thing for us, only it was called beat the crap out of us. Actually, I was lucky. I am 4 of 6 and my sisters and older brother got into enough trouble that I was really good. My brother one time got caught dipping and my dad nade him dip the whole thing at once. But the best was one Memorial Day when my sister was 15, she put out her joint (not all the way) and hid it between her mattresses (I only hid porn there); she caught her bed on fire! :uklaim: My dad found her at a friend's and dragged her home by her hair and my mom grounded her for the whole summer!!!

Of course, she sneaked out of the house and got pregnant that year, but she never smoked pot again.
