I made a holiday

Okay. Today is the last day that I type a line of text in all caps because of the CAPS LOCK key. I tore mine off, and I suggest you do too.

That's why I'm calling today Tear off your useless CAPS LOCK key day.

I used a ballpoint pen; be creative in your choice of instruments. Just don't get carried away.

are you saying that you never use the caps lock key at all?

i know i won't tear mine off, it's the run walk toggle in all of my first person shooter games.

It's the run/walk in my games too...I'll just stick it back on for them, it comes off and on pretty easily. But I don't play that often.

Oh I forgot the disclaimer. If you damage your keyboard while trying this, it's not my fault because you have free will.

With most keyboards, it's not a problem. Just pull them up. With laptop keyboards, you just have to start from the bottom of the key and pry upwards.

I'm all for it, but I don't want to desecrate this keyboard. My father would become very mad.

You know what I hate?

On the communal school computers around here, pranksters take off the Backspace key on some keyboards. Makes it insanely hard to type.

I got a better one for you, scroll lock.

And if you realy want to steam someone you shouldn't take off the backspace, cause people can just use del, what you want to do it take off alt cntrl and del. That renders the average maching pretty much usless.

I don't mind the caps that much...I mean I don't use it, ever. My run/walk toggle is shift, crouch is ctrl, prone is either q or z...

Here's a short video about the origin of cnt-alt-delete. You might enjoy it.

I wonder if Longhorn, oops, Vista will continue these ancient traditions? And, they say DOS doesn’t live.

Well if you do that no one will even attempt to use it.

I have to admit, I used to be a victim of that. I kept wondering what was turning on the overwrite in word, then I remembered I ues del a lot and my fingers sometimes slip.

Took another one out today- that menu dropdown next to the right winkey. I'm addicted!

Lock your computers up tight, I'm going on a key-tearing rampage tonight.

On April Fools' Day, we switched all of the letter keys around on our boss'keyboard when he was at lunch. Then we went to lunch; I bet he had fun!
