Silly but hard question

Let's say we're all in a planet of the apes setting (silly part)...

But here comes the hard question part.

If the apes made you a temporary leader of your village, and they wanted to take away your children... but would only spare your children if you offered up somebody else's children instead.

Would you make some of the people give up their children to save your own?

The key for me is the "temporary" part. If I don't give up my kids now - which is the biologically correct thing to do - what will happen when someone else takes over as leader? Can I have more kids? Are the other kids related to me?

So, yes it's a tough question. But, I don't think I could give up mine. No...

I personally would just pass on the becoming a leader, would rather suffer those consequences than having to choose between my children and someone else's.

It's about the torment of a young emigrant concentration camp survivor from Poland circa 1945, who you think is forced to choose between competing lovers. As the book proceeds you realize her demon is that she was forced by a Nazi guard to choose which of her two kids would live and which would not.

Troubling stuff indeed.

It depends do I get to choose whose children I get to give away? Because if I do then I would just give away Sadam's parents children. Or maybe Bin Laden's parents children. You can see where i am going with this.
