More bombs in London
It's early yet. I hope not much comes out of this.

My initial opinions: three possible options.
1. The bombs were built wrongly - three separate devices failed to detonate properly. Not likely in my opinion. 2. The bombs were designed to not give a full detonation and were merely a warning. More likely. 3. The bombs were the work of pranksters. About as likely as #2 and alsmost as sickening that people would do this sort of thing. If it was #3 then out security services are going to come down on the pranksters like nothing they can possibly imagine. And to be honest, they deserve it. If it was #2 then we got the warning the first time, look what we did; we gave you a great big 'f*** off'. Take the hint. If it was actually #1 then all I can say to you is..... "HA HAAAAA!". Idiots.

It could also be that the bombs weren't as expertly built as the previous. From the descriptions of the noise/smoke it sounds like the blasting caps went off, but the explosives didn't. I'm sure we will hear pretty soon if they find un-detonated bomb material 0_0 *Possibility*

That being the case, it's either #1 or #2 of my opinions. I have worked with explosives before, and I know that you have to be a real moron to build 3 devices and they all fizzle in the same way. It is possible though, I'll give you that, but you REALLY have to be an idiot to screw it up that badly three times. It's not hard to get a blasting cap (or any other form of detonator) to set off any amount of explosives.
Sorry, I'll add a fourth choice: The explosives were very low quality/fake/a botched job. If the detonator went off and was seated properly, then it may have been dodgy explosive material which caused the failure. Of course (for all you conspiracy theorists out there) it could have been our own security services setting them off as a way to keep public awareness high. -EDIT My eyes have just been drawn to a small paragraph on the BBC news site, reads as follows: Quote:
-EDIT 2 I have just received word that my local train station, St. Albans City, has been closed due to a bomb scare. Today we have seen three bombs on the London Underground, one bomb on a London bus, and a station on my line closed down due to a bomb scare. Two weeks ago to the day we had an three bombs on the London Underground, one bomb on a London bus, and a station on my line closed down due to a bomb scare. Admittedly, the station is different (this time it's two stops closer to London) but it's the same line. Also, the loss of life today so far has been nil (thankfully) but that doesn't change events. However..... does anyone else see a pattern emerging here?

The problem is, it isn't just Al Quida; it is every extremist and whacko on the face of the Earth trying to get in on the action.
One could even conjur up the idea that these were practice runs? The last threat from a AQ unit was towards US Allies, not the US. Next thought: Witness the carnage in Iraq; I believe that the terrorists are becoming very worried that they are failing miserably. They routed Spain with one train bomb, so maybe that will work in the UK? (Not likely...folks there are built of some different stuff). Everybody has got to tighten up, a bit, and keep their eyes and ears open. About, oh, 10 miles from my home is a retired nuclear reactor, sitting right on the Mississippi. I NEVER drive by that place that I don't slow a little and have a look around. I even pulled over and stopped once when I saw an older car parked near the gate. It had the proper sticker, so I moved on. I would prefer not to ride a train or bus here, as the security is just awful in this part of the states. They are coming, and they will continue to come until there is no point, and that will be awhile. Heads up, my friends. God help us all. |

They failed miserably yesterday. Thank God. And today one terrorists suspect was greeted while running through an underground station with five rounds to the head. God I love the Brits. Nice accuracy where do they learn to shoot like that?

They have 4 suspects caught on tape.. notice the one guy with New York on his shirt?
Debate now is racial profiling * on Fox News* should it be acceptable due to the circumstances.

Well, when we have as little around here to do as we have, you need to do something to relieve the boredom, hence the accuracy.
Seriously though, I think the 5 shots to the head were by a plainclothes cop standing about a metre from the guy, who had just been tackled to the floor by another two cops. He was wearing a baggy jacket though, so 5 rounds to the head was a little unsafe in my opinion. A couple of clips should have done it.
