Fake or real ? .....being investigated

LCpl. Boudreaux has told reporters that the sign in the picture originally read "Welcome Marines!" but was altered by someone else. He has not, however, (publicly) produced a version of the original photograph or identified who might have altered it. (If the photo was indeed manipulated, someone involved in the process had to be sufficiently acquainted with Boudreaux to be able to match his name and rank with his picture.)

This photo is approximately 1 year old and was taken in Iraq when the unit deployed to that region during Operation Iraqi Freedom. LCpl. Boudreaux maintains that the photo in question has been altered from the original.

My opinion is that it was probably a real picture done as a joke and some clever ******* [most likely one of his "mates"] has got hold of it and sold it to the press. The publishers more than likely know it's a fake but to them it doesn't matter.
3 lots of idiots here;
1. him and the cameraman for doing it.
2. his eejit mate or whoever it was that gave it to the press.
3. the biggest w*****s of the lot...the publishers.

[I dont expect his fathers even been killed...or his sister etc ..]

Dont you know about the page that picture originally showed up on ?
Someone wrote a clever java script or something similar and you could type in anything you wanted right on the page - and after it would insert it into the picture. You could even go through the archieves - when i checked it out over 100000 versions of that picture were made by people.

My wife made a few funny ones about her boss, printed them out and took them to work.

So they are all fake - every single one.

Of course it's a real photo...but I don't think those are the original words.

The picture itself is just too pixely to be legit.
