Bad Shrimp

I just made this tread to ruine shrimp for every one.

shrimp from thailand that is grown using aqua culture is fast becoming the filthiest food you can eat. the shripm is grown in shallow ponds that and are feed meat feed, this creates alot of bacteria in the shrimp which is the passed on to you to combat this they try and recycle the water, but they are having to swap the water so much that they are poluting their beaches and swaping bad water for bad water, so the germs and bacteria are allowed to prosper. So inorder to futher combat this they are feeding the shrimp antibiotics, now the longer antibiotics are given to them, the more resistant they will become to them (the germs that is) so what they are doing is crwating super strains of bacteria inside the shrimp that you eat, and it's only a matter of time before these bacteria become so powerful that they can only be killed by antibiotic alternatives, which have a good chance of killing the host as well as the germ.

just though this was something people should know.

You haven't ruined anything for me. I don't eat any shelled fish. They are bottom feeders, so basically it's like eating cockroaches.

they are pumped with antibiotics and then slautered, the shrimp are swiming in the same recycled water and it allows the bacteria to grow, I don't know how to gomore indepth into it you had to see the pbs special but rust me it's bad.

now the open water shrimp and the ones made in hawai are good and clean (except in month that end in er for the open water ones) but it's the ones made in thialand hat are bad.

it's sad how they started these srimp farms too, they convinced the traditional farmes to sell their land and told them that farming shrimp would make their ives much much better, but it didn't their lives are much worse because instead of farming things that they eat themselves, every thing they farm gets shiped out. it's a pretty sad story.

All the shrimp I eat are caught live from bayou's in new orleans (where my uncle lives)...and as for chickens (I'm not so sure about cows and whatnot) they aren't all stuffed with antibiotics. My stepmom used to raise chickens and they didn't inject their chickens with anything.

If God intended us to be vegeterians, animals would not be made out of meat.

I am allergic to all shellfish, so my theory is it would kill me anyways.

Hate to tell ya this, but everything you eat has been chemically treated. I saw a commercial the other day of a company who was proud to say that added stuff to their eggs. Your milk is pumped up with extras. Your meats are pumped up with all sorts of things. Who knows what effects this will have on us in 10 years.

As for shrimp, I usually get mine fresh through some friends, along with other seafood. Thats when I don't catch stuff myself. Can't get much fresher then that. Now if I lived inland, I would never eat seafood.

Well i wasnt talking about elfs stepma or farmer brown with 5 pigs, 3 cows and 10 chickens.
Take those "plants" that produce eggs. They have 200- 300 thousand chickens - each one shoved in a little box the size of a chicken. They have hardly any feathers, are all full of sores and diseased - the only way to keep them alive is to feed them antibiotics every day because they never leave that little box.
And thats just one example.
Of course they dont show you these things on american TV - for a reason. But i am german (as mentioned before) and in europe people are a little more critic when it comes to their food - and even though the same problems exist as over here - at least the public is (or gets) better informed through the media.

One guess where these layers end up?

Some to dog/cat food but also a lot end up in Campbells Chicken Noodle Soup.

(My brother was good buddies with a guy who produced eggs for Vons - in SoCal.)

So is it getting into your food? Only if you eat. You can reduce it by seeking out local farmers/ranchers and encouraging them to use orgainc methods.

We have an egg farm in our county. The flies near it are big and nasty. The cleanliness at this place is not good. We buy our eggs from the farmer down the road. They're cheaper and noticeably better.
