Body Piercing

Anyone got it done or wants to do it?

I just got my first body peircings and I peirced my nipples. Just curious what everyone else has had done or has plans to do.

I've had my tongue and belly button pierced, but both have closed up since then. Took them out when I joined the Navy and by the time I got around to replacing them it was too late... I may get the belly redone, depends on how whether or not I get my flat tummy back after this baby is born

How does the Navy treat body piercings? I know the Air Force (AFI 36-2903) expressly forbid any piercings for men, and only one per ear (in the lobe only) for women (and no others). This applied in/out of uniform, on or off base.

Not allowed to have any piercings other than 2 in the ears for females when in uniform or on a military installation. Other than that it isn't a problem. Mine ended up closing because I lived in BEQ's for about a year and a half before being allowed to have my own place, so wasn't technically able to wear them. I know lots of people who tested the rules, the only ones that typically got caught were the tongue peircings, which resulted in Mast and usually reduction in rank (one guy was actually bright enough to wear his tongue ring to mast... the Captain was not pleased)

No piercings or tattoos here, I am a Republican after all. But more importantly, I have a pretty good self esteem on how my body works, so I don't need to mutilate or alter it. Body by GOD I always say.

Anybody remember when tattoos and piercings were a sign of rebellion and an expression of your individuality?

That is too funny. I saw an episode of the Osbornes where Ozzy told the youth of America if they wanted to shock their parents, not to get one.

hey you got a signature under all your post don't ya bry? a tatoo's the same thing except alot more expensive. It's saposda be an expression of something, but too many people are turning it into just a thing. The indian arm band tatoo, the chinese letters, a scull, a naked lady, their all played people! think of something knew!

I'm planning on getting one (now that I jjust turned 18) but not until I can think of something to say worth getting tatooed on me. It may take a while, I still haven't figured out what to put below all my post, mabe I'll just put the donation link.

I used to have www.georgewbush.com as my signature. I consider it more of a style or personal taste. Like wearing glasses instead of contacts or wearing certain clothes. It isn't permanent or painful.

But the pain Bry is part of the experience. You have to earn a tattoo through the pain. The bible says that your body is a temple I look at it as accessorizing your temple.

I know this will sound like I’m preaching (but anyone who’s seen my posts on TSF knows otherwise) but your persona at 20 is not who you’ll be at 40.

I remember seeing a guy who had a large tattoo of a skull bleeding from an imbedded knife with a drooling cobra slithering out of an eye socket. This was on his forearm. And I’m thinking, fast-forward 15 years, he’s coaching his 6 year old daughter’s soccer team, “Daddy why do you wear long sleeves all the time when it’s so hot out?”

Sure it represents a certain time in your life. But just maybe you'll won't want to remember it everytime you look in the mirror. That’s what photo albums are for.

see, me personally, i realize that in the bible it speaks of not mutilating yourself, but i think alot of the bible is interperted too literally.

i don't think that tatoos were really what was being discussed, but actual self-destructive mutilative behavior.

so, even if that's dead wrong, that's how i look at it.

as far as tatoos that will bother me later in life, i will just make sure not to get skulls, or anything like that, because it's entirely true, i won't be the same person in 15 years.

because of this, it's too hard for me to decide what tatoos to get, so i still have none.

No way. No can do. My body is a temple, and the chicks have come to prey.
