Gmail's Upping the space!

Don't know how long this has been going on, since I usually log in through a third party application.

But it seems that I have 1345 mb as of this writing. And its going up.

Awesome! Using gMail as a drive letter could actually work...especially if they find a way to split the files with winrar and recombine them automatically.

1407MB and still climbing!!!
I also like that they've finally added color to the text and a few new fonts along with a few other extras.

The javascript reaches 2000 at midnight Eastern, I believe.

The whole "infinity +1 is an April Fools thing. They actually only doubled it to two gigs. The timer will most likely run out after 2 gigs. Check the "New Features" link in your gmail account for more info.

Does anybody want to help me test a gmail account to see if it really can hold 1000 (or 2000) mb?

I thought we were suppose to get 1 more GB. I just checked my account and I have a total of 2051MB. I guess they wanted to give out some bonus space.

2051 is two gigs.

1024 bytes= 1 kb
1024 kb = 1 mb
1024 mb=1 gb times 2 =2048

So 2051 is actually much closer than 2000 in terms of "two gigs"

DD I see your right. We are only slightly over two gigs. But it's still growing albiet at a much slower rate than yesterday. Right now it is at 2052.328xxx. So does anyone know when it'll stop growing or will it just continue to get bigger forever?

If you hit view source on the main page, you get this little javascript variable

var CP = [
[ 1112331600000, 1025 ],
[ 1112439600000, 2050 ],
[ 1113062400000, 2075 ]
];

The long numbers are times. I have no idea how to translate them though.

I wonder how long before someone figures out how to convert the Gmail drive shell into use for hosting purposes. Wouldn't be too difficult.
