The Greatest Americans

This summer, The Discovery Channel is having a series on the greatest Americans as voted online by us, the viewer. My top 5 were:

1. Abraham Lincoln
2. Ronald Reagan
3. Edison
4. FDR
5. W.

The show will be next month, but I was wondering who everyone would vote for? We could have a TSF's greatest Americans.

I hope your not serious about W. Some can argue that he's not a bad person, but a great one? Those are strong words for a man still in the begining of his second term.

1. Martin L. King / Malcolm X ( They played off eachother to accomplish one common goal.

2. John Brown (He waged a private war on behalf of a people not of his own)

3. Mandela

4. General Patton

5. Bill Gates

(While these may not seem like "Great" americans, they all had their place in my life thus far. While I appreciate the sacrifices of others listed here, these have had the most real effect on me.)

Mandela was an african, not american. He was actually president of South Africa until 1999, which is the country where that cool dude Horse hails from.

she worked behind the sceens to do what she though was right and follow her convictions, at the cost of her's and her husbands own popularity.
from womens rights to african american rights she did every thing in her power to fight for these issues.

If you were going to pick an athelete you'd pick Jackie Robinson, if you were going to pick an entertainer, you'd pick Houdini, if you were going to pick an athelete/entertainer, you'd pick Muhammed Ali.
