DVD slideshow software

My dad is retired and goes on holiday a few times a year. He takes 100’s of photos between his camera and mum’s, and when they get home, he likes to create a DVD slideshow of the holiday that he can show to friends on the TV.

He’s been using several different programs over the years, and although he’s reasonably IT savvy, he’s always overcomplicates things when trying to create these slideshows.

One of the main problems he has is getting the program to display photos in the order they were taken, sorting by date/time rather than file name, which messes up the order due to number sequencing and computer logic…

Also he wants to create these slideshows with photo sets from different cameras, (his, mums, a friends), but all on one slideshow, once again in date/time order.

Additionally, he wants to be able to add music, and control speed of the slideshow, be able to skip pictures, and create more than one show on a dvd.

So far he’s used Magix Photos on CD&DVD Deluxe 2.0 (very slow and difficult to use), some free online programs (didn’t work very well), and currently Nero 5 or 6, which isn’t really doing the trick.

I’d be very grateful if anyone can recommend some software, free or paid for that can meet the requirements above! Above all, it must be easy to use, and very flexible.

Thanks
