Re: Help on what to charge a customer.

I'm sorry, but they risk their own lives trying to save people who set their houses/cars/whatever on fire (I know it's not on purpose, or maybe not even their fault) and they deserve to spend tax payers money...I would venture they probably don't get paid enough for the selfless work they do. I don't know how much they actually make, but it should be a lot for what they have to put up with.

Re: Help on what to charge a customer.

It would likely go down real well if you bill them full price, then stick 10%-20% or something in their firefighters-appeal donations box or the US equivalent it .

Re: Help on what to charge a customer.

Firefighters are awesome people. I could not live with myself if I overcharged them for something so small.

That would be a good idea, then everyone wins.

Also like posted before firefighters risk their lives. I would be a firefighter, but was in a life or death accident about 5 years ago, and don't have all my feeling back in my legs, can't breath as well as i used to be able to, and get very itchy in hot conditions cause my skin is sensitive or something, and if I am too hot or too cold I itch like crazy.

I would love to be in the ARMY, but don't want to from what I listed above.

Right after that life or death accident, I got up off of the ground, and almost fell cause I couldn't move my right leg at all. I never went to see a doctor, or hospital. Every now and then I can't feel my legs, and just have to eat 4-5 platefulls of stuff, or at work we have good meals which 1 usually fills everybody up, but when I can't feel my legs I will have 4-5 meals, and usually get feeling back instantly.

I'd rather pay money on food then go visit a doctor to see why I lose feeling in my legs when I am on my feet for more then 7 hours a day.

Re: Help on what to charge a customer.

I know we are getting off topic here....

I too don't like doctors, as they are always around with sick people, but a couple of them saved my life last year.

I have zero desire to live for ever, but I don't want to go before my time, please see a doctor. Sounds like you are loosing circulation in your legs, not good. Maybe you have a problem with diabetes because you say you feel better after eating a lot.

I know Doctors are expensive, so is dying. Four years ago I paid over $6,000.00 for a cardboard box and cremation, no funeral services.

Re: Help on what to charge a customer.

Nobody is questioning the integrity of our firefighters but---
The commissioners need to tighten their belts.. another story.
When the trucks go door to door, [our volunteers] usually the money received is for "off time". ..and not to get a new set of tires for a truck.
We pay enough taxes. So when a service is performed by a computer tech, that tech needs to be compensated at a fair rate.

The New York Police and Fire Dept personal [city and other counties] are at the top of the hill for bravery.
