Police charge 12-year-old Syracuse girl with prostitution

A 12-year-old Syracuse girl was charged with prostitution Wednesday night after she offered to let an undercover Syracuse vice squad officer perform a sex act on her for $20, Chief Gary Miguel said today.

"This is the youngest I've ever seen," Miguel said of the prostitution arrest. Because of the girl's age, police are not releasing her identity.

The girl smiled and motioned for the undercover officer to pull over while the officer was on patrol about 9 p.m. in the area of Lodi and Butternut streets, Miguel said.

I read most of the comments and the blame was placed on the mother (or parent). Not always the case but is often true. Yes, an easy way to "earn" money but not safe at all. Many products are focused on children and if the parent can't afford it...........
