Why is it that so many people (mainly Americans, I've noticed), say "I could care less", when the correct way to say it is "I couldn't care less"???

If you could care less, then you do care at least a little bit...

Back to the original topic though, @ 40sondacurb: since when does speaking correctly mean you care about what you're discussing? You should speak correctly at all times regardless of topic. Also, "I hate you" is easier to say than "I don't hate you", but as you can see, they mean totally different things, and you wouldn't say one when you meant the other...

@ wrench97: "petrol" is short for "petroleum".

@ 40sondacurb again: like Done_Fishin said, if you go to The Hospital, you're visiting, not staying. It works for jail/prison, so why not for hospital?
- If you go to the prison, you're there to see someone.
- If you go to prison, you're there to stay.
