RIP King of the Hill

http://www.cinemablend.com/televisio...ill-13162.html

After 13 seasons, the Fox animated Sunday evenings staple is ending its production run. Being a huge KOTH fan (and I really don't like many TV shows), I will surely miss it. However, I've only started watching in season 8 and didn't really watch anything past season 9 due to schedule conflicts (didn't even know of Cotton's death until recently) and so I probably won't miss it THAT much. And, if I buy all the DVD's I can still be watching new (for me) episodes for quite a while (especially seasons 10-13).

Personally, the worst thing to come out of this is that it'll be replaced by a Family Guy spin-off. I know it's pretty popular, but IMO Family Guy is a joke (as is American Dad) and in no way is as good as either KOTH or even the Simpsons (which shows no signs of decline, for some reason).

Anyway, what do you think?

Yeah, he died in the episode aired on 11 Nov 2007. When I finally saw that episode, I thought it was the beginning of the end.

I've only been able to catch the shows cartoon network airs at 10 and 10:30pm weeknights. Once in a while I catch the episodes on Sunday. It is a great show, and I will miss it. I found it better then the Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad.

Reminds me of when Seinfeld ended - sad times. Same with Invader Zim and Rocko's Modern Life.

Sad...sad...sad.. What's next? Family Guy?

To be perfectly honest, I hope they cut Family Guy soon. But yes, I understand that these shows still have a hugely popular following and it's really sad that they're cutting them after only 10-12 years.

Re: RIP King of the Hill

A family guy spin off... unbelievable... KOTH I second only to the Simpsons... and they are replacing it with a stupid family guy spin off...

Sad day for television...

The Simpsons probably won't be cut anytime soon. Despite losing some popularity in recent years, they have become an American cultural phenomenon.

I don't really watch TV either. However, KOTH's a great show and I'm sad just the same.

Re: RIP King of the Hill

I think, it is kind of sad but the amount of reruns and watching the same episode just beause one of my friends hadn't seen it kind of puts me off.

It was really good show I just wish the reruns weren't so prolific.

Re: RIP King of the Hill

haven't seen any of the episodes and I might have only caught one of the Simpsons .. Japanese game show where everyone is trying to kill each other but they need the money to get back home .. needless to say I didn't see much of it .. just enough to understand the plot. I later saw where the idea came from when a lot of crazy Japanese games started to get aired but didn't hold my interest for more than about 30 seconds.

Whats television anyway except something that takes our concentration away from our Computer Monitor anyway .. more fun on the internet than there is on the TV.
