Re: big brother coming to the UK

Heard about this little 'black box' idea a few years ago.

Seems like a new idea has been chucked into the equation.

I dont see why/how they can test in London when the maximum speed you can get to is about 15mph with all the traffic.

I would never agree to one being installed in my car.

Re: big brother coming to the UK

I would never accept that intrusion into my privacy. My driving habits may not be perfectly within the limits, but I am to be in charge of my car, not the gubberment. They already set limits to a large extent based on revenue rather than safety, so this would be even more annoying.

For example, there is a road near my house where the limit is 55 mph in a single lane road with residential driveways and multiple intersections, but then the road splits to two lanes and loses the residential driveways, but goes down to a 40 mph speed limit. Cops sit where it changes from 55 to 40. The idea that that is for safety is pure unadulterated BS.

'Big Brother' coming to the UK??? He's been here for years!!!

This is another reason I prefer older cars, they don't have all the 'Black Boxes' already built in

Some 12 year old will probably hack it before it's fully implemented

Re: big brother coming to the UK

Funny, I thought this was about how they want to put some public schools under military control. But this is just as good.

Re: big brother coming to the UK

They'd try and introduce a 'Fresh Air' tax, but then realise they'd have to provide some, first....
